Re: [RC1 -> RC2] automatic updater problem/questions

Uplaod the folder named "install" inside "phpBB-3.0.RC1_to_3.0.RC2" to your phpbb3 directory. Popint your browser to yoursite.com/yourphpbbforumdirectory/install/ OK...? Well, I guess I am a little confused then. Why does the automatic updater tell you to download a package that contains the entire...

[RC1 -> RC2] automatic updater problem/questions

I am currently running a board that uses phpBB3 RC1 and I want to use the automatic update tool in the admin control panel. However, I have several questions as I cannot seem to make this work. Here are the steps it says to go follow: 1. Go to the phpBB.com downloads page and download the correct "p...

Re: where is?

Kevin Clark wrote:If it's to change the size of a logo you've uploaded, you don't need to do that.

Upload your image to the imagesets folder
Admin panel>styles>imagesets
Then 'edit' the style you're using.
In the top drop box choose main logo
In the bottom drop box choose your image.
Submit.
OMG, it's that easy?

Re: [Beta] phpBB3 Portal

I have never installed a portal on one of my bulletin boards before. However, I am going to try this one. I have two questions...but first I will explain what I want to achieve. I want the portal to be what appears when a visitor goes to mydomainDOTcom, not to mydomainDOTcom/phpBB3...so in this case...

Cut and paste image to editor, upload to server

Relying on attachments to show images is very flawed because you can't show them inline and that ruins the context of the conversation. Relying on hotlinks to show images is very flawed for more reasons that I care to mention here. phpbb2 REALLY, REALLY needs a mod that will either : 1. allow the us...

images question [2.0.22]

It seems that the only way to post an image on phpBB2.0.22 is to hotlink to that image. Or is there another way that I am missing? I would like my users (and myself ;) ) to be able to copy and paste images into the editor area and have the image uploaded onto my server. AKA-not have to depend on hot...

Re: Question about user titles

You could do that by adding a new rank called Registered User and setting Minimum Posts to 0 OK. So I haven't done something wrong? This is normal to not show a user's title unless they have a special usergroup or rank assigned? It appears as thought the "rank" method is only based on post count. W...

Question about user titles

I run a couple of new bulletin boards using phpBB 2.0.22. Am starting to get a few members, and I just noticed that they don't have a title under their names on the post_body pages. When I make a post it says "Site Admin" under my name, but it says nothing under theirs. I don't want to make any spec...

Re: Suspending my forum temporarily

I would simply use permissions. Set view to all, and everything else to admin. As far as stopping registrations, I thought there was a hack for that......

List of default db tables for phpBB 2.0.22

I use the backup utility in my admin control panel for databases. It asks for you to add extra database tables so they will be downloaded. However, I don't know which are the default tables and which are extras I have created. Is there a list of default phpBB 2.0.22 tables? If memory serves me right...

Re: Simple Subforums

I am curious as to who is the author of this mod...and why he responds only to particular questions? I don't always "expect" the help that I seek, but usually an "acknowledgement" of one's comments is polite. :( I see many comments/questions, not just my own go un'acknowledged'......which is rare at...
