Re: moddng the bbcode code....

as i an not pull out the individual lines from the text to parse separately Have you ever considered a JS function for this job? You'd only define it once, then include the JS file in about two template files and then create a custom BBCode. You can split lines in JS aswell... Advantages: PHP code ...

I am attempting to make a bbcode that a user can enter a block of text (in this case an exported fit for eve online) and then have it show up in an easy to read way. I ha...

Re: prosilver pet peeves

The pictures on the first post are those of prosilver in developmentā€¦ so you are currently browsing the finished product. The unfinished finished product? Because the current style here looks absolutely nothing like the image shown in the opening poster . that image is also of a version from 3 year...

Re: Bandwidth Results

Philderbeast is correct in saying that graphics are the biggest user of bandwidth. In terms of phpBB, it's always been a matter of which template you choose. People made templates without graphics or limited graphics for phpBB2 so I'm sure you will see some for phpBB3. Images usually get cached tho...

Re: phpbb3 + Zencart's bridge?

Since phpbb3 is still in beta it shouldn't be on a live site anyway.

but I doubt it will work as many things are now stored differently.

Re: PHPBB3

When will it come out? You guys are taking forever! yea they are taking there time. but they don't get paid to make this software. if you want some sort of indication of what they are dealing with check http://www.phpbb.com/bugs/phpbb3/ when that hits 0 bugs we will get RC1, or so one would expect :)

Re: Live Board

as far as i can tell it will make it a lot easer to get the last few bugs out before we get RC1. now this may cause it to take a little longer before we get RC1 but it will have less bugs and this means less things that need fixing when it goes live. less things that need fixing after rc1 means less...

Re: How well did it hold up with 8,000+ users?

with 2 dual cpu servers behind the site I'm really not surprised that it help up so well :)

however I have see 2.0.x cripple a server with much fewer users... and vBulletin for that matter.

nice to see that phpbb3 is obviously much faster than 2.0.x :)
