Re: How does phpbb 3 stand up against spambots like xru***

, then you would have to get more advanced in your spambot prevention methods. Or change your question every month. Or maybe you could write a mod which allows you to have a small pool of these manually added questions and the mod will pick one on registration. To me this seems to making it frustra...

Re: Cool mod idea: random avatars

There is already a default avatar in the gallery. and isn't he already using it ? :P Upload solely funny avatars, to add to the fun :D and make the gallery invisible (if that's possible), so the users have to wait for someone to register to see the next one. Maybe users will start to force others u...

Re: Custom Fields | Why force other fields?

But don't think that these little icons justify the use of hardcoded profile fields and I hate the location field.

I think, you simply can't.
Area51 is using the version of prosilver, which will be shipped with phpBB3.

Can't you restrict the input to be something specific?
Like a range of numbers? Specific words?

Re: phpBB 2 to phpBB 3 Database

Do you want to retain old mods for phpBB3? Old mods won't work - most likely at least. The authors of these mods will have to make them compatible again. Should we expect a bunch of black birds to fly in and peck our eyes out I can't sleep right now, because of horrorstuff... you don't need to incre...

Re: phpbb3 vs smf?

None of them is better , they just differ from each other. I prefer phpBB, though. That's why I am here ;). In this forum, though, comparison between different forumsoftware is forbidden, because it often... or only leads to flame wars and we don't like that :D. So, you should just download and test...

Re: Highlighted Codes

Technically only PHP. Technically? And by the means of shamans? Just kiddin, but... technically? Is PHP the only language or what? Would we have to implement some tricks to use it for other stuff? Was this function created by the phpBB developers (spelled it out - someone wanted that...) or might t...

Re: question

You are not using phpBB3, aren't you? If you are using phpBB 2 the right location for this 'request' would be somewhere here: http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewforum.php?f=48 And if you are using phpBB 3 , then you won't get any concrete help regarding this software and modding yet, because it is s...

Re: [idea] Forum chat [idea]

That phpBB3 is feature frozen might be true... but why not think about new ideas anyway?
I mean, he didn't ask for a new feature. He just wanted to hear some thoughts about this idea.

I don't really like chats, but I do like the idea of combining forums in one or another way :P
