Re: Running the "normal" phpBB tests with my extension enabled

Thanks for the tips, all. I think it seems like this is an idea I should give up on :) I'll just do my best to cover the places where I think my code could break the system, perhaps copying the core tests I need as I go...

Re: Running the "normal" phpBB tests with my extension enabled

Is this of any help? - https://area51.phpbb.com/docs/dev/3.2.x/extensions/tutorial_testing.html Any particular bit you had in mind? It does mention how to make sure my extension is loaded when running my own functional tests, but that doesn't seem to give me a way of running phpBB's own tests with ...

Re: Running the "normal" phpBB tests with my extension enabled

Ah, sorry, perhaps an example might help. For example, if I pull the latest phpBB 3.2.x from git, install the composer dependencies, set up a functional testing URL in the appropriate environment variable and run: phpBB/vendor/bin/phpunit --group __nogroup__,functional ...it will run what I was thin...

Running the "normal" phpBB tests with my extension enabled

Hi, Is there a way of running the full, normal phpBB test suite with my extension activated? The extension I'm developing shouldn't really change anything in the normal "flow" of phpBB, so it struck me that it would be a good reassurance if I could run the phpBB tests with it enabled and make sure t...

Switching user registration method dynamically

I'm currently running a board which has user activation set up for email validation by the user. In my extension, I'd like to switch this for some new user registrations so that they require admin validation instead (depending on their IP address.) I think I've tracked down the likely area of code I...

Re: 500 Error when new user clicks email confirmation link

Found it. It turns out that this is the kind of thing that can happen if your server has *both* opcache and xcache enabled at the same time (see https://stackoverflow.com/questions/24354223/using-both-opcache-and-xcache ). Frankly, it seems pretty amazing that (a) you can even do that, and (b) my ex...

Re: 500 Error when new user clicks email confirmation link

Well, I think that I was right that something very odd was going on. After much debugging, I finally disabled opcache, and the problem went away. I've asked the server admin to bounce Apache (we use mod_php), and perhaps that'll clear things up. I'll re-test with opcache turned back on once he's don...

Re: 500 Error when new user clicks email confirmation link

When I first saw the error, I had five of my own extensions plus the official Google Analytics extension installed. I disabled every single one of them (all extensions are listed under "Disabled Extensions" in Extensions Manager) and could still reproduce the problem. At one point I moved everything...

Re: [SOLVED] 500 Error when new user clicks email confirmation link

I sadly can't reproduce this in my local Vagrant setup, which makes debugging something of a pain. It looks like the problem is coming from line 98 of /ucp/ucp_activate.php, which includes functions_user.php, but that's an include_once, so I can't see how that can possibly be the case...

I've not done much work on it since last week, if that's what you mean, but I'm planning on trying to progress it though to the next stage of extension-hood this weekend, as well as merging in another translation.

Re: [BETA] reCAPTCHA 2.0

Hi Matt, just one thing that came into my mind as I looked through your extension. Why do you use a seperate private and public key config values for reCAPTCHA 2? AFAIK they are the same as from the old reCAPTCHA. So why don't you use them? Just on "Delete data" you shouldn't delete the config. :mr...
