They're busy with other stuff. It's not the change of theme -- it's when the theme is no longer there. How did you go about removing those old themes? I put the default themes on this morning (removing the other two) but didn't back up the sql database because that was done the other day. I really ...

I never thought a change of theme could possibly screw my whole forum up as I've done this with other forums and had the menu to fix the thing

That means your default theme is deleted (or at least the .cfg is). Reupload whatever theme is your default and you should be alright. I changed the themes back to the default ones before but the sql backup is from when the two other themes were installed. I have uploaded the two original themes bu...

After a failed attemp to upgrade to rc3 I now get
Could not get style data
Please notify the board administrator or webmaster: xxxx
I only had a backup of sql from a few days ago so donno what files I need to edit to get it back online

Thanks Kev but I'll leave it. I don't mind building computers or finding a problem on Windows but following phpbb upgrade instructions is strictly a no no from now on for me

thanks for your help but I'm going to just leave the bloody thing on rc2 and wait for some converters to come because I'm not going through this everytime the thing needs upgrading

The instructions say to upload the install folder which I've done but nothing about unzipping "phpBB-3.0.RC2_to_3.0.RC3" and uploading that so is this correct ?

RC2 to RC3 although the convertor suggests it only see's phpBB 2.0.x to convert to RC3 :shock:

On the next stage I get the other messege about it not seeing the forum
