Well anyway, after a few emails back and forth with their network guys the problem seems to be suppressed with an upgrade to PHP 4.3.8 (from 4.3.4) and some fixes for Enism. I am getting a couple of premature end of headers errors a day (down from hundreds) , with no segmentation faults. Would it fo...

I too am on Canaca (found them through the phpBB ad) and have the same problem appear in my error logs, with frequent 500 errors appearing at random. Searching a few other threads on this forum I find this thread where it seems the problem is caused by a problem with php file permissions. I've email...

I don't see any reason why the attachments component would break compatability with Acyd Burn's current mod, it's a very successful design already so there shouldn't be a need to change it :)

I have read through the extensive feature list, but can't find anything related to searching through posts..

[DEV] Database backup reminder

Description: An little mod that adds a reminder to the admin panel of when you last backed up the database, useful when you're a forgetful admin like me :) Hehe, I feel all nervous as this is my first mod! I've tried to keep to the standard convention, but I'm not confident I haven't done something...

http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/phpbb/conv_common_ucs.zip The UCS Common Converter by Ashe has a simple option to manually rebuild your search index, it runs through every post on your forum and gives you a complete search database table when it's finished. I warn you though it can be quite a lon...

After some searching around, it seems to be a random string (a unique id) for each message, but it is only made if bbcode is turned on..

I'm importing raw text/html - so am I safe to leave out the make_bbcode_uid function from my own script?

Thanks :)

The meaning of bbcode_uid?

Hi there, I am working towards importing a lot of discussion data into phpBB to make browsing it 10 times easier. I am splitting it into the variables that the phpBB database needs, eg. post_text, post_subject and the like.. but I am confused by bbcode_uid. To me, it seems to be a random 10 digit st...

Excellent theme :) As others have said, I especially like it because it is one of the only dark themes I've seen without a garish colour for text/images to rot my eyeballs. My friend whos forum I installed it on liked the theme so much he asked for his website to be modelled on it! I only used the s...

Hi, I have just used the UCS to reconstruct the search tables for my 35'000 post forum which was converted from UBB. I am very happy with the tool, a great job done!! But I can see why doing the reindexing is so slow - I look at my database now and the search tables are 48'000 and 538'000 rows in to...

Search Indexing Problem

Hi there... My board used to be *shudders* UBB 5.10, and about 8 months ago I spent a couple of long weeks and got it upgraded to phpBB :o) I am looking for a specific thread in the board from a long time ago, but have noticed my search just hasn't indexed any threads from before the upgrade. Infact...

Search function can't find anything!

Hi there, I've always found the search in phpBB hard to use, but this takes the biscuit! I recently moved my forums over to 2.0.4, meaning I had to rebuild the software from scratch, and moved servers at the same time, so moved the db about a bit. I believed that the _search_results, _search_wordlis...

Sadly, I have just had another look at it, and figured out it was me being stupid :o) I hadn't selected a domain for the cookie, so when it tried submitting the info nothing happened... maybe an error message is needed, like it reloads the page and sais "please select a cookie domain" - rather than ...

Yeah, I manually deleted the rows that had gone strange, then inserted new values to replace them, phpMyAdmin was fairly simple to use :o) It depends what is wrong with your current table? If you go into phpMyAdmin, select your groups table, and go to export... then select both structure & table dat...

DoubleDoom, I am planning on installing subforums on a clean copy of 2.0.4, because it is such a large mod to install. If the code is completed but the install instructions not - would you be able to provide the complete file set for an unmodified 2.0.4 board yet? They don't need the instructions, a...
