Re: [ALPHA] Dice MOD

I've had a busy month (it's been really cold, lots of schoolwork, I've been sick, etc.), but I finally finished the hardest part of this thing. I'd say that it'll hopefully be done in just another week or two!

Re: [ALPHA] Dice MOD

Progress update: I had a smarter idea: write the parser with some clever tricks of the regex engine. I have partially finished the parser - I have finished the splitting and the handling of subexpressions, but it doesn't yet parse precendence. I haven't decided yet whether I'm going to handle preced...

Re: [RC1] Dice MOD

Any ETA for the new version? Hopefully soon. This is near the top of my mental list of things to do, but I'll probably end up spending a week on it once I really get started, and when I actually start is another matter altogether. School starts again next week though, so I'll probably spend more ti...

Re: [RC1] Dice MOD

I would recommend waiting until I come out with the new one, as it will be better, and quite possibly not be backwards-compatible (apologies, but I know that if you want to upgrade, you'll need a special script. It could be done, but it wouldn't be done until some time after I finish this (If you we...

Re: [RC1] Dice MOD

I just wanted to ask if anyone has any experience writing expression parsers. I don't, personally, and in all likelihood, there's someone reading this who can do way better than I can at writing one, and since I lost a fair bit of my rewrite due to a crash (not too much; I can rerewrite it), I was w...

Re: [RC1] Dice MOD

I hope you'll give a look at the way the dice bbcode button is implemented (id code and all) because I installed the mod twice and both times I struggled a bit, and I noticed a couple of other comments about the same point in the thread. I recently found out that there's a limit on the number of BB...

Re: [RC1] Dice MOD

I'm rewriting this MOD now that 3.0.0 is out. I've improved the code to better integrate with the existing systems, and to mean less overall edits. The new code will also feature full expressions. I plan on allowing the following: 1d3 :: roll a d3. 1e10 :: roll a d10. If you get the maximum value, r...

Re: [RC1] Dice MOD

Hi, Before to install this MOD, I would like to have some information about the "fraud" point of view. I means, with the Dice MOD for phpBB2 it was very/too easy to "cheat". 1) if I put [dice]1d6[/dice] what will I see if I edit my post later ? only that or the result will be ad...

BBCode ID registration

Is there any way we can get a registry set up for BBCode ID constants, similar to the existing page constants system? My MOD installation would be a lot simpler if I had a constant that I knew wouldn't conflict.

Re: Modifications Database Feedback

Is the abysmal response time to MOD comments because the MOD team doesn't realise they're there or just because of the general slowness. I responded to a number of denial comments, but I just want to know whether or not you guys actually can notice that a new comment has been added (I haven't seen a...

Re: [RC1] Dice MOD

Hey guys, I'm still very new with phpBB, and I'm guessing there's something really, really simple wrong. I'm trying to install this mod, and certain lines that I'm supposed to be finding in one of the .php files aren't there. specifically, my ucp_pm_viewmessage.php is missing these lines: $bbcode =...

Re: [RC1] Dice MOD

Actually, what's wrong is that the offsets calculated by the preg_match function to not take UTF8 into account. Thus, when I take the utf8_substr using the same offset, it gets calculated differently. Possible fixes include not using utf8-aware string functions (I don't think the mod would be affect...

Re: [RC1] Dice MOD

You must copy-paste the URL, or else my provider will get angry at the referrer header and not work. Nice mod. One highly annoying thing though, it fails (does not parse?) at utf language specific chars. Whenever one of those letters is included in message the tag result does not show. Eg This : Pr...
