Making the board more private

Hello, I am setting up a private board. It is very easy to restrict the access to the forums to the registered users. But unregistred visitors still can see a lot : memberlist, the data at the end of the index page (who is online, etc.), an so on. I would like all this to be hidden to unregistred vi...

Limit search indexing to some forums

Hello, Like many of you, my phpbb_search_* tables are getting big. I have read and applied the several tricks found. However, my phpbb forum has a special discussion part, unrelated with the main topic, just for the convinience of my users. I would like the posts in this part not to be indexed. Is i...

It is when they have never visited and the user_session_time is at 0.
It equals to 1st January 1970.
You may have a time zone setting that offset that to the date you get.

Still having this problem ! :( I gathered some interesting piece of information. When it happens, the forum actually displays a wrong time for this user ! On the front page, the time displayed is wrong, some minutes earlier (5-55 minutes) than the actual time (never seen it later yet). Then, every m...

I am still having this issue. And I am quite surprised to be the only one to report it. Though promising, the server explanation does not satisfy me. It happens too often, with too large errors (up to 30 minutes) and it happens to some messages but not to all the messages posted at a time. Put simpl...

Good request. Ptirhiik - RPGnet-fr has a good point. The idea would be to credit users both for their posts and their long membership, making a new but heavily posting user equivalent to a old but occasionally posting user, depending on the weights. Also, simply, ranks could be defined by a number o...

The server idea looks promising.
However, during a period, it was so often that I have some doubt...

It happened again (with phpBB 2.0.4). I may have some clues to help solve this. I was online and I noticed the new messages of a specific user. First there was an answer to topic A, then an answer to topic B. But in topic B, the answer appeared before the message it was supposed to answer, with actu...

Then, I think you should have a look at your code regarding the link to the forum homepage that is put at the beginning of the "printed" page. It does not seem to handle forum homepages that are not at the root. My forum homepage is http://www.captain-alban.net/forums/index.php but your code points...

Good idea for a MOD. I think there is an typo in your install.txt ## templates/subSilver/printer_header.tpl ## templates/subSilver/printer_header.tpl should be : ## templates/subSilver/printer_header.tpl ## templates/subSilver/printertopic_body.tpl Then, I think you should have a look at your code r...

I found 4 solutions for this problem : One quick fix I made was to comment out the SID checking code in the modcp.php script. search for </form> Next thing in the lower box put this {S_HIDDEN_FIELDS} </form> It will make your template updated so you dont get invalid session errors To fix this, a cha...

Same problem with phpBB 2.0.4. Words with accents (àéèù...) seems to be stored without accent. "compatibilité" becomes compatibilit. Could not the search form do the same to the query before searching ? Also - but I must admit I am not an expert there - wouldn't it be better to change the letters wi...
