im using mysql-4.1.14 and i got this error everytime i use it, the problem could be that i converted my db from phpBB to smf first and im trying to get it back to phpBB again

i didnt got it very well, i dont find where it makes reference about giving numbers to the users... but yes, the table of users of the new forum is empty

the version is the 1.0.5 i have dump of the DB so theres no problem about that i was one month ago with phpBB, but got attacked many times and decided to migrate to smf, i used a converter for that, but now i want to return to phpBB... do you think that changes to the db affected my conversion? than...

im kind of amazed by your dedicated work in this situations (the hacking of the server issue), you put a great effort on this project, and not only in development but also in security i think the guys that attacked the server were just lammers, a real hacker wouldn't do it to a great open source pro...

you need first to install the database service on your pc www.mysql.com is the most common but you can also try another ones like postgreSQL after that you can setup www.phpmyadmin.net to easy manage your database i would reccomend using apache 1.3.x http://httpd.apache.org/download.cgi for testing ...
