Re: Creating a Members Only Forum

You mean you want registered people to be able to see it, not guests? In that case, go to Forum Permissions in the acp and set view to registered. If you want only CERTAIN members to see it, set view to private and go to user permissions to give certain users access to that forum (or you can create ...

Thinking of converting to v3. . .

I have a few questions, though.

1. Will my members have to re-register once I convert to version 3?

2. Will all of my v2 posts be lost?

3. Will my site have some downtime while I'm converting?

4. What mods come built into v3?

5. How do I convert?

PM's

Is there a way to make it so that new members can't send pm's until they have hit a certain number of posts?

Re: Smilies

I just figured it out! For some of the smilies, I had things written in the "smiley emotion" box. Those words were also the same codes for other smilies, so all I needed to do was erase the smiley emotion, and they worked right!

Thanks for the help. :D

Re: Smilies

I added the smilies the way I normally do. I dragged the smilies into the smilie folder in my FTP. Then I went to the acp, clicked on "Add Smilies", found the ones I wanted added, and put in the code I wanted for them. But the problem is, this code isn't showing up on the ones I just added. . .only ...

Re: Smilies

All I've done was add new smilies. I haven't done anything else on the site in a long time.

Smilies

Lately, when I use a couple of my smilies, this shows right after them:

Code: Select all

" border="0" />
They WERE working before. . .how do I fix this?

Time logged in?

If one of my members is logged in for a certain amount of time, how do I make it so that person is automatically logged out, after a certain time?

ACP

I was trying to install a mod, and it wasn't working, so I deleted what I had added. Now I get this message when I try to access the acp: ule_query_failed'] = 'Could not query config information in admin_board.'; $lang['No_one'] = 'No one'; $lang['Disable'] = 'Disable'; $lang['Remove'] = 'Remove'; $...

How do I add a "Contact Us" link, so that when someone clicks on the link, they will be taken to their email client and will be able to email us?

Thread Checker?

Is there a mod that will change a post icon a bit to let people know which threads they have responded in?
