Re: Using Amazon S3 for template files.

Placing the template files on S3 would hardly help you, phpBB needs those files to compile the pages they aren't served to the browser directly ever. yh, thats what I thought as well. If it won't have any effect what about having images stored on S3. I have come across a number of sites which use s...

Using Amazon S3 for template files.

I own a very large forum and as popularity has been rocketing lately, I have considered using Amazon S3 to store the template files of the site. I wanted to first consult with people here to see how it would work. The plan is for having the template files/images all stored on Amazon S3 and can be ac...

Re: strip down a phpbb 3 database.

strip down a phpbb 3 database.

I have aquired a phpBB board which is a bit of a mess at the moment. There are half working/broken mods all over the place and its pretty exploitable in its current state. I need to strip down the whole site down to the basic unmodified phpBB installation. I can delete all the files reupload a fresh...

load the install.xml file into firefox or internet explorer to view the file
did you then upload any files in the folder called root in the download?

Re: [RC] phpBB Statistics v1.0.0

Nice mod. A couple of questions:

1. Could you try reducing the number of edits for the mod. Having lots of core changes makes it harder to update the board.
2. Could you add an option so the statistics could only be viewed by admins or people with mod powers.

Re: Stop people from ripping styles?

You'd have to have some sort of elite style to be targeting by someone wanting to rip it and if it was THAT good you should think about releasing a version of it to the public :) I spent 5 years in professional design and corperate imaging and i've never had to protect a design. <3 I have already h...

Stop people from ripping styles?

Hi, I was wondering what the easiest and best way is to stop people from ripping phpBB styles. I considered changing the filepath of the template files...This is because many people with custom designed styles don't want to find a ripped version all over the internet after having spent so much money...
