Re: [4.0.x][DEV] [OFFICIAL] CODENAME: Chameleon

On all phpbb forums I use, I only use the latest unread link.
On XenForo the default behavior is that the main title takes you to the latest unread.

The first / last post is mostly useless for me.

Re: Discuss: phpBB 3.3 Proteus Feature Release Published

Great news :) While as mentioned it is not a "Wow" update, it is solid one refreshing the core of the software. Now to hoping that 4.0 with all the cool new features arrive sooner rather than later* :ugeek: It seems like a mighty rewrite of the code, converting all the control panels, getting a mode...

If someone downgrades the php version, will it also convert the hash or can it cause issues?

Re: Discuss: phpBB 3.3.0-RC1 Release

I’m really in the neutral camp on this, and a couple in my moderator team are really against. This is why we decided not to implement them. But I do dislike using extensions for things that are part of a forum core experience. For those that do elect to use reactions, or if we reverse our decision o...

Re: Discuss: phpBB 3.3.0-RC1 Release

@Heo32, not sure why you are so protective. There can be more than one correct solution. I'm aware that phpBB relies on extensions more so than other solutions. But that doesn't mean that makes it the only "true design philosophy". The main drawback is that extensions get abandoned, have conflicts w...

Re: Discuss: phpBB 3.3.0-RC1 Release

@Heo32 likes is a core feature of a lot of other forums software- not sure why your fixation with Facebook and how is it related It is also one of the most wanted features for phpbb and has a lot of requests. Personally I prefer reactions. Just for information sake, look at the huge and positive rea...

Re: Any update on PHP 7.3 support?

Is there any actual update 😉
I did see that 3.3 beta2 is release, so hopefully “soon” we can get RC and final.
Hopefully it is not too far after bug support ends in a week for 7.2

Thanks for the hard work on phpbb

After update to 3.2.8 notification missing?

Hi,
It appears that after I upgraded to 3.2.8 from 3.2.5 (complete files) all the older notification just show a generic "new topic" notification and point to a non-existing topic.
For new notification (quote/PM/new reply) it seems fine, from a quick look.
Am I the only one encountering this?

Re: Any update on PHP 7.3 support?

Did you read what you wrote?
7.2 support ends on November 2019
That’s the facts.
Security maintenance is not active support. It means all bugs will not be fixed even if they make the program unstable.
It is not recommended to be on unsupported versions.

Re: Any update on PHP 7.3 support?

Considering the time it takes to release a new major version of phpbb: Beta->RC->Gold, four months is not a lot of time, I think that for 3.2 release it took a year or so from beta to gold (feb. 2016->Jan 2017). It actually means that it is likely that no activley supported version of PHP will work ...

Any update on PHP 7.3 support?

Hi,
Didn't follow phpbb dev for the last few months, any update on 7.3 support?
I just saw an alpha for 7.4 and that 7.2. will no longer get active support in a few months.
