I have a forum that I put up years ago and have done little with, although I know I have some mods in there but for what I have forgotten. I am not a web guru, and have changed servers since this forum has gone up. I'm not even sure if it is working or not. So, what are my steps in reviving this? I'...

Re: How do I... add something to my pages ie nav bar and..

Will that change any of my mods? Copying your subsilver over? I don't remember if I cahnged anything in the template header or footer, I only have put on two mods. Also When i compare the code on what you posted below and the code on my subsilver they do not look the same. If this gets too complicat...

Re: How do I... add something to my pages ie nav bar and..

Thanks everyone. I think I'll get with hubby and see if he can help me spot the best place to put this. If you want to check out the nav bar that I am trying to insert you can click on my website link. I have tried to change my signature so that the web site shows up on this forum. If anyone could s...

How do I... add something to my pages ie nav bar and..

I would like my nav bar from my web site to appear on the top page of the forum. How can I do that? I do not know phpbb, so this would have to be rather easy. I also have a form for a newsletter subscription that I would like to add to the bottom of the page. Can anyone direct me as to how to attemp...

Re: security_question

thanks to everyone, especially James. I loaded up reinstalled all of the files, changed ftp clients and text editing clients ( though with your files I did not need to edit anything) Now it is on to the next mod.

Thank you

Re: Text editing and mac

Well it seemed to work, but not the way that editing most mods worked. The author sent me the files and I then used fetch to FTP them. ( it was so nice of him to do that) I was going to use FIle Zilla but when it prompted "use at your own risk" I was terrified and ran away from it. Fetch seems to wo...

Re: Text editing and mac

I will download filezilla for the mac. It is probably safer since no one has said they use fetch. My question is the one that I am downloading says that it is a beta. FileZilla-3.0.0- beta10....Is that o.k.? Or is there another version that you are using for the mac? Today I plan on totally uninstal...

Re: Text editing and mac

Thanks for explaining. I'm glad I said something about DW. Tried uploading everything that I had changed from mod with the Mac Text Edit. Then used Fetch to ftp these to the server. Still received the error code "Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING in /data/bridgetm/public_html/forum/inclu...

Re: Text editing and mac

I downloaded fetch, have not worked with it in years and love to watch the little dog run. So now I am uploading the files in fetch, but I noticed that the files that are in my folder have the little D for Dreamweaver on them. even though they were changed in textedit. Strange I know. Since everythi...
