Yep, the Database Cleaner - sorry for not making that clear before! I also run some of the other tools, like Fix IDs, Orphaned posts, the "reset" tools, etc...
IMHO, the main problem was the fact that several attempts at upgrading to 3.1.x were made and the DB was not "pristine". In fact, the original install was something like 3.0.5 and I've had similar problems with the 3.0.X updates - database errors on several occasions. Add to this the fact ...
Well, the STK found and fixed several problem with the database and I tried it after I double checked if /store was 777 - it was the easier fix so I tried it first...
Anyways, got the board working in 3.1.5, so thanks.
The /store folder was not the problem, tried it. After several hours of testing, moving, exporting, importing, deleting, unzipping, etc... I finally managed to upgrade the forums to 3.1.5. The main help came from the STK. So if anyone stumbles upon this topic in the future, check this out: https://w...
robert, not sure if your reply is directed at me? If that is the case, maybe it would be better to continue that discussion in the thread I linked in my previous post?
If that'll make you feel any better (worse?) I tried for 6 months to upgrade 3.0.x to 3.1.x and it did not work: https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=466&t=2271476 In my opinion, formed after asking multiple people for help, is that the upgrader assumes a perfect, pristine DB without ...
Hm, not sure how to answer that one... We tried many different ways to update, even altering the update php files at one point, in desperation, after days and days of failures. I *think* all the experiments were done on a copy of the database, however it is possible at least one of the tries (the in...
Just FYI, I've reverted to 3.0.12 for now, as the boards need to be working. However after several other attempts, including deleting the contents the the /cache folder and other advice found in similar threads here, I still couldn't finish update. Dunno if that helps, but still: http://forum.hranko...
Hm. No idea why it requires the bg lang pack, I have disabled and deleted it from the DB, the default language is EN, what's more there's a single row in the phpbb_lang table and that's English. Still, deleted 311, upped 3012, made sure in the admin only EN is present, re-upped 311, cleared browser ...
OK, so following those instructions gives the same result: https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=466&t=2232411#convert3 When I browse to /install/database_update.php I get the following page: Updating database to latest stable release Database type :: mysqli Previous version :: 3.0.12 ...
KevC, sorry, the URL is http://forum.hrankoop.com What is the second step of DB update? I don't think I ever got to that step? Also, in that 30 minutes, is there ANY indication that work is being done? My DB is 42 MB in size, half of that is the wordmatch, I can flush that if it's gonna help? In the...
