Re: Prosilver; forums not vertically centered

the guestbook forum has three lines in the left box because it has the moderator line. Exactly. Even so, though, you can see even that one isn't truly centered - as @MrC kind of pointed out the space on the bottom is greater than up top by a very small amount. As far as OCD, meh, probably. ;) You c...

Re: Prosilver; forums not vertically centered

@MrC
Indeed you are correct. Odd that change...

@Sora_
That's kind of what @Arty indicated, but also said doing so causes issues.

Re: Prosilver; forums not vertically centered

@MrC - Appreciate it. Before I saw your post I reinstalled (went back in time with my VMware installation) the old board to check and I was actually on prosilver. The change in the look is caused by a difference in 3.1 in which the right most area of the "forum box" has three lines in it i...

Re: How can i update 3.0.12 to 3.1.1 with AutoMatic Update

I first tried the automatic update but was left with a list of perhaps 100 or so files I'd have to manually delete. So I started over and followed https://www.phpbb.com/support/documents.php?mode=install&version=3.1#update30. This was a mess the first time because the instructions don't explicit...

Re: Prosilver; forums not vertically centered

Thanks... That works splendidly. And @Arty thanks for your input. It looks different and less professional than before but I'm sure people will grow used to it. For now the solution provided by @MohamedAG looks good.

Re: Prosilver vertical spacing off

Per the "try it" link from https://www.phpbb.com/about/launch/ it appears this happens with a normal install. I'm not sure if it's an oversight or by design though.

Prosilver; forums not vertically centered

I upgraded my 3.0.12 board to 3.1.1. I had no mods and currently have no plugins. I upgraded via the database upgrade option, using the full download installation package. I've only installed/used Prosilver. I've attached a screen shot indicating a problem I'm having with vertical spacing on my boar...

Re: [Discuss] AutoMOD 1.0.2 released

I had v101 installed and updated to v102 by installing the update through AutoMOD. On the page with the "update" button that button showed up twice. Everything seems to have worked, however. (I don't remember if I clicked the update button on top or the one underneath it.) EDIT: I probably...

Re: Spam and PHP-BB

If I visited a site like that, I'd think that the owner was either poorly educated, dyslexic or brain damaged and move on A couple of things. First, this has worked well for about two months now. I haven't had any complaints about people having difficulty registering. And second, I haven't had a si...

Re: Spam and PHP-BB

I'm finding misspellings and grammatical errors in QA questions to be working well - for now... Instead of (I know this is a bad example): What color is the sky? I'd do something like: Teh kuloor uv duh skie iz wut? People have been able to figure out what I'm asking, but I haven't been hit with a s...

Re: chown/chgrp with permissions

Such owner/group-owner issues are beyond the scope of the typical website user. Ah yes, that was one of my thoughts in the original post - that the KB article was perhaps written as an easier way to help the majority of users without getting too complicated - or pointing out ownership commands many...

Re: chown/chgrp with permissions

I would assume that if these settings were an issue, there would be many many posts here complaining about it. My guess that giving the additional permissions hasn't been an issue is because hosts probably have other security precautions in place to keep users from accessing each others' directorie...
