Re: phpBB.com now a PageRank 6 (down from PageRank 8)

As far as I can tell all the decreases in pagerank that has happened after the last toolbar pagerank export (phpBB.com is one of them) has been done manually. It is also said that it is done to punish chosen sites that actively sell links. As far as I can tell they have just picked a few random high...

Re: Is it wrong to download?

However if you wanted to make an exact piece by piece duplicate of a car for sale you would not be able to do that because a lot of the technology in the car is going to be patented This has as far as I know never been tried in a court even in America. If you are going to sell it it is one thing bu...

I'm sorry to break these news but US law only applies in the US. Even though there are several tries lately to illegalize certain activities in other countries.

Re: Is it wrong to download?

What Ford does have is control over the design of the car. You can't manufactuer an exact replica of a Ford car, rebrand it, and sell it as your own. I'm not sure to what laws you are refering but as it works in most european countries you can manufactuer an exact replica of a Ford car and drive it...

Re: Is it wrong to download?

Replace "software" with "car" and "computer" with "garage". You'll see how ridiculous your statement is. :P I know that, but these are only two things. If I want to pay for all the cars I have, I'll need about 10000$. I have lots of cars . I have this garage for 4 years. And thats about 2500$ a yea...

Re: Is it wrong to download?

US copyright laws do not distinguish between selling or giving away a copy. If you duplicate copyrighted material and distribute it you are breaking the law. Thus, you cannot send home a copy, even if you do not charge for it. I don't pretend to be an expert on international law, but I expected tha...

Re: Is it wrong to download?

But I think it does since you in most countries actually can send them a copy home you just can't send it over the net. The music/software/film industry is alone with the end user copyright laws they have. No other industry has them. For example it's legal to make a copy of a sofa in most countries ...

Re: Google is NOT your friend!

There are lots of rumours about G collecting info on you and I just want to point out that even if these are true Google might still be pretty nice. I don't like people keeping track of me, not because I'm a criminal but because I'm human. Collecting info on me would be a bad thing. On the other han...

Re: Is it wrong to download?

How you seen the article where someone explains the new law about file sharing and tell people they can't have visitors over when they watch a film? It's quite amusing but I can't seem to find it.

Re: Facebook opens for Google

They will have some time to be alerted to this. I'm not so sure about this. Ok, atm Facebook has been rather active compared to myspace in my opinion but there must still be lots of people that signed up, added personal info and the stopped using it. It's ok that all these people get their info pub...

Facebook opens for Google

Facebook opens for indexing by Google. What's your opinions on this? My 2 biggest concerns are the personal information issue and a possible spam issue. Personal Information. Facebook has a way of getting people to be more open about themself, with real name and phonenumber and things like that. Sur...

Re: End of the English Language!

Poor spelling, in ordinary language, txt, 1337 or wherever, shouldn't be an issue if the subject isn't that language. That is just a way for spelling nazis to put down on the poor spellers and we don't need that. Bad spelling is only rarely a result of laziness (as mentioned earlier in this thread),...
