Re: Prevent user from editing their posts

I never said that you shouldn't have mods.. I simply said its easiest to update a board without mods on it. If your worried, you can simply create another board and use it to update and add mods before hand. Then simply copy the finished board over to your live directory. Or you can just install you...

Re: Confusion on combining styles and mods

honestly the best way I know of to style/mod is to simply know the code. Or atleast be able to read and understand it. The problem with coding is everyone has there own ways on how to code something. Course thats not always a bad thing. if you wish to learn the code.. i can get you started there... ...

Colours.css for instance would handle the colors... common.css handles the most common elements... ect.. I'm sory I didn't notice you said SUBs...

Re: Prevent user from editing their posts

its always easiest to update a board with NO mods installed. However phpbb install apps have a nice feature to assist you in updating modded boards. It will require a decent amount of coding knowledge on your part to understand what the app is telling you. But it certainly can be done.

Re: Prevent user from editing their posts

Simply create a usergroup and edited the advanced permissions. Just a guess I'm not sure as I've been away from PhpBB for awhile.

Re: Basic CSS Question

It uses all of the css files...

each CSS file handles a specific aspect of the site style.

The most common changes are made in both the "Colours.css" and "Common.css" files.

Re: need help on logo and colors

well filezilla is neither of those.. Filezilla is a third party FTP software... So Judging by that I assume that your editing the hard files.. aka the files on the server. When you edit those files you need to either go into the ACP go to the STYLE tab and update the files to the database after each...

Re: PMs automatically copied to random users

I don't think that is a feature in phpbb3 I could be wrong but I highly doubt it..

Sounds like there is some sort of a conflict with the users information. Possibly a repeptition in the database or something? Not sure.

Turn on "Recompile Stale Style components" in the ACP. See if that helps you.

Re: Problem with ClanzDarkness3 style

Could you provide a bit more information as to the problem? Or possibly a picture or a link to your site so that we can view the coding.

If you don't require a speedy fix you can always post a comment on the style's support post. And I'm sure the style author would be happy to fix the issue.

Re: Basic CSS Question

The styles are kept in the database by default. However you can either refresh the databse with the changes to the hard files via the "Style" tab in the ACP or you can check the "Recompile Stale Style components" option. Which is also located in the ACP. Something I like to do when modding styles is...

Re: need help on styles and colors

You can change the colors of the forum style by editing the corresponding css files usually "colours.css" also there may be a bit in "common.css". To adjust your logo you can edit "common.css" I believe. Although the logo could be hard coded into the overall_header.html file. In which case you would...
