Re: [3.2][3.3][RC] Auto db Backup

Also text is better if you want to read and/or edit the file I wish. But what program or application can open a text file that is 100 MB or bigger? When you try to do that, your computer will hang and crash and freeze and you will have to open the Task Manager to force close it, if you can. PC's ar...

Re: Discuss: phpBB 3.3 Proteus Feature Release Published

I have a bug to report with 3.2.8. When I upgraded to that, all of a sudden the forum loaded much faster, which was great. However I noticed that often after submitting a post, the forum thread would load up with only the first post showing and the rest of the thread missing. I have to keep reloadin...

Re: [3.2][3.3][RC] Auto db Backup

Dear David, One more question. I just installed the new version of the backup extension, Version 2.1.0-RC10, but when I try to go to the settings it says "The timezone in your UCP is incorrect". What does that mean? What is wrong with the time zone? How do I fix it? Also, what's the difference betwe...

Re: [3.2][RC] Auto db Backup

Does it matter? Will it still work ok? When will you update the extension so that the warning message no longer appears? You can ignore that message for now - it is in preparation for phpBB 3.3 Dear David, It appears my version is outdated. My ACP says my autobackup extension is this version: 2.1.0...

Re: Upgrading/Updating and extensions

Quick question: If you don't delete the data from the extensions when you disable and delete the extension files, then isn't there a small risk that when you install the new extension files, that the data may not be compatible with the new extension files? Even a small risk? If so, what would happen...

Re: [3.2][RC] Auto db Backup

I set the number of stored backups to 3. However, I found 6 backups in my server under the /store folder. There could be a number of reasons as to why backups are not being removed. 1. If you have done a manual backup in the intervening period between auto backups then they will be in the store fol...

Re: Upgrading/Updating and extensions

@David63: Ok but you have to delete the files before replacing them right? You can't just overwrite the files of the extension with the new ones right? Well it seems that most of the extensions do not say they are compatible with 3.2.8. Some are only up to 3.2.7. So I guess the risk of using them is...

Re: [Split] app.php in install folder not working after update

I have the same problem. I'm trying to update the forum to phpbb 3.2.8 now and after I upload the "install" and "vendor" folders from the automatic update package, I get this error message: http://www.happierabroad.com/forum/install/app.php [an error occurred while processing this directive] Any id...

Re: Upgrading/Updating and extensions

@warmweer: Well actually I upgraded from 3.2.2 to 3.2.8. So it's a big jump. :D However, I see now that after the upgrade, in the extensions panel, the extensions that are incompatible are marked in red. So I guess the ACP automatically lets you know which extensions are incompatible and need to be ...

Re: [3.2][RC] Auto db Backup

Hi David, I just upgraded my forum to phpbb 3.2.8. In the Extensions panel, your auto db backup extension is listed as outdated. A red warning at the top of the Extensions panel says: [+] Auto database backup is not up to date - Re-Check version Does it matter? Will it still work ok? When will you u...

Re: Upgrading/Updating and extensions

I have a quick question. If I upgrade my forum to phpbb 3.2.8, but some of my extensions do not say that they have been tested to work with 3.2.8, then after I do the upgrade, will the extensions most likely work anyway? I know there's no guarantee, but will the balance of probability be on my side?...

Re: app.php in install folder not working after update

unless you have been editing core files other than prosilver, then you should not be using the auto update package. you really should be using the full package update method. however, make sure you are uploading the correct vendor and install folders to the correct place. make sure that all the fil...

Re: [3.2][RC] Auto db Backup

Dear David63, I tried your backup extension and it was working fine. But isn't working as expected. I set the number of stored backups to 3. However, I found 6 backups in my server under the /store folder. It seems that it is not overwriting the oldest backup and keeping the number to 3. When I clic...

Re: Help! "phpbb_posts" table crashed and ejected all data! All posts in forum gone! What can be done?

Dear David63, Something with your auto backup extension isn't working as expected. I set the number of stored backups to 3. However, I found 6 backups in my server under the /store folder. It seems that it is not overwriting the oldest backup and keeping the number to 3. When I click the Restore tab...
