Re: Royally messed up update...how to I restore backed up data?

Yes, thank you. The boards are now back - up and running just as they were before upgrade....meaning - the issue of being unable to post began before update as well. There had been no changes. We were able to post/update one day and the next - without any changes or modifications from anyone (user o...

Re: Royally messed up update...how to I restore backed up data?

OKay - I have the files back - but still have same issue of being unable to post/write any new posts. Here is the info you have requested: Original version number before issue started. 3.0 RC7 Type of database backup you have (backed up using phpBB backup option or from phpmyadmin). Backed up via ph...

Re: Royally messed up update...how to I restore backed up data?

This was fantastic. Thank you. However, I am now left with the original error still intact. No one (not even administrators) can make new posts. WHAT WE DO: 1. Click "New Post" 2. Enter post info 3. Click "Submit" and then... 4. We are either (1) returned to a blank post page (to...

Re: Royally messed up update...how to I restore backed up data?

I thought the convert option was to switch from old versions to new? Will it convert databases from new to new?

Re: Royally messed up update...how to I restore backed up data?

Pardon me - I didn't realize it was a rant, really... although I know I'm frustrated at myself after many hours of trying to figure out this mess I have created for myself. Again. My apologies. Your board's URL: - prefer not to list as is used with high school students and secured for their safety V...

Royally messed up update...how to I restore backed up data?

How do i restore my users etc? I messed up my update and ended up just installing a new board (BAH!) - completely overriding config file (Yes, I'm a major dork). :geek:  When I was completely the install, I had to choose new file prefixes as the preferred one was still (and still is) be...

phpbb3: User Permissions upon activation?

My board is currently set to allow only activated users access (users must be activated by the board administrator). I do this to protect the privacy of my students. When activating the student user accounts, however, I have no way to set the forum permissions to be "standard". All of the ...

I swear... I'm too dense for phpbb3. ok.. maybe not - i just got used to my phpbb2 admin panel and don't have the time to invest in learning my new one. Can someone please tell me: 1. There are a zillion files inside each theme file.
I really don't need them?
THen why are the files included?
Any ideas?

cannot install styles (phpbb3 - latest release)

I've uploaded via FTP 3 styles.
None are recognized in the admin panel as even existing.
What am I missing here?

Yes. I unzipped them prior to uploading.

Anyone have a tip for me?
Thanks.
