Find member via E-mail ???

I have a member who has her e-mail but can't remember her username - how can I search the forum membership for e-mails to find a username?

Re: Can't split topics

Thanks Mick, that was helpful and I was able to split-off several posts into their own new thread - I simply didn't know how to do it.

Apologies for the bad topic title. I just wasn't sure what the problem was or if it was just me - turns out it was me.

Can't split topics

I'm simply trying to "split" a topic and place it in its own new thread, but it won't let me - it'll only let me merge with other threads.

Is that right or is something wrong with my forum that needs fixed?

Re: Astronomy Themes

A nice High Definition image of some galaxies, the milky way, constellations with some vivid colors would be kinda cool - anything astronomy related. But, I'd still like the forum to have a clean, sharp look that's easy on the eyes and easy to read for us older folk. What are my options? How can I c...

Re: Why Is Recruiting Against the Rules?

It's really frustrating that we are not allowed to even ask if a specific person that has offered help is legit or not. I started a thread here: Help finding good help . So, the mods keep deleting the user name, which actually enables the scammers to continue to scam unchallenged. We simply don't ha...

Re: Help finding good help

I did see the 'Scam warning' thread but not yours so, I'll go through that. It really is unfair to make people sort through signature adverts to find help and never be allowed to ask if they're legit or not. They are enabling the scammers by doing that. If we aren't allowed to ever discuss hiring he...

Re: Help finding good help

You are doing a monumental disservice here. It's totally unjustified to keep removing the name of someone who offered to help me so I can find out from others here if they're trustworthy or not. You are enabling the dishonest by doing that. It's a horrendous rule that makes zero sense. people should...

Re: Help finding good help

Oh C'mon, don't ya think it's a bit over the top to simply ask if a person is trustworthy to fix our forum or not? * removed * contacted me so, I'd simply like to ensure a person I don't know is reliable from other reliable people here. Why is that too much to ask? Besides, you're just making assump...

Re: Help finding good help

Yep, and for whatever reason it is no longer stopping those spam-bots. I was only getting a few per day, which was manageable but, then it grew and grew to 50 then 100. It's like there's a spam program by a human doing it specifically to attack our forum. Of course, our forum critiques religion so, ...

Re: Help finding good help

Opps, rule #1. I didn't know what else to do. I'm just really tired of having the same problems all the time. Our forum has been around since 06 and I think we've probably screwed a few things up over the years trying to update and not really knowing what we're doing. I'd be willing to basically cle...

Help finding good help

Where do I go to find someone who's willing to help us with our forum? Can anybody here make recommendations to hire someone with experience in phpbb forums?

We just don't have time fix a few things we keep having trouble with.

update suggestion for smileys & icons

How difficult would it be to include an update to the smileys and icons next time? It would be helpful if the icon differences stood out a bit more like if the most recent posts were red indicating a new post. Ours are all grey so it can be difficult to tell the difference. Plus, it would be helpful...

Re: Help with Spam Bots - version 3.0.11

Okay,

This was an easy fix simply by adding in the math question which required a human to answer. We had it before the update and it didn't get added this time. I've not seen one single spam bot since the math thingy was added.

Thanks again
