Re: Strange "Board Settings" -> "Disable Board" issue

That might be it.... I copied all the files a week prior and tested with one of my backup database files.. Then transferred the database last night. New database.. Old cache. Could that cause this?

Re: Strange "Board Settings" -> "Disable Board" issue

You know.. I might have modded a thing or two. I'm going to do some testing on a side install.. If it was me, I would be so embarrassed that I bugged you fine folks about this.

Re: Strange "Board Settings" -> "Disable Board" issue

Yes.. I saw it in phpMyAdmin on the new hosting account. When I changed the setting in the phpbb admin panel, I saw it change in phpMyAdmin. Doesn't make any sense. I'm about to look at the code and see if I see anything interesting. I even saw "Altered Board Setting" in the log No real issue. But a...

Strange "Board Settings" -> "Disable Board" issue

I just migrated my forum (3.0.4) to a different host. Before I saved my database to a file, I disabled the board and entered a "down for maintenance" message. In phpmyadmin, on the new hosting account, uploaded the SQL file and tested it out. To my surprise, the board was up (not disabled). "Board D...

Re: A question about the phpbb_groups table

Thanks for the advice.. When I had wrote the script to do the conversion, I didn't realize that groups were needed, and didn't investigate further. It was just yesterday that I realized this, while updating my site to use phpbb groups to manage permissions to sections of my site. The population of t...

A question about the phpbb_groups table

I have a website with multiple users. When I installed phpbb, I converted my user database to the phpbb_users format, which seems to work just fine. I was poking around in the database, and I noticed that phpbb_groups had one group for each user, but only for ones who registered normally. I did a we...

Re: 2.0.22 changes?

Thanks! Do these changes make it highly suggested to upgrade from 2.0.21 for security purposes? Or is it OK to stay at 2.0.21? The last item seems to be the only security fix on the list.

Where is this list located, so I don't have to ask each time a release is made?

Thanks for your help,

Wayne

Re: Integrating phpBB into my site

This post had been moved to the Mod Writers forum, but I'm a bit too new to start writing mods, though it is something I want to do. I was hoping that there was a feature for this or an existing mod. With all the posts here and elsewhere about using the phpBB authentication system to grant access to...

Re: Integrating phpBB into my site

One thing you could do is to set an additional variable like IN_PHPBB that is set only on your site pages, rather than the phpBB pages. If that var is set, then skip updating the last_visit during the sessions logic. That would be pretty easy to setup another variable, but your mentioning of "skipp...

Integrating phpBB into my site

I'm starting up a site that will contain some public content, but much of the content will only be available to members. I currently have my own database for the member info, and would like to integrate a phpBB forum into my site. It's an easy process for my site to refer to the phpbb members table ...
