Re: How to prune topics/posts without lowering overall count

well it has to do with this mod:

NV usertopics
http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=1164045

for some reason the post is locked, and also, the mod author will not provide support via PM or email.

So little bit stuck.

Any chance you could help me out on this one?

Re: How to prune topics/posts without lowering overall count

Hi the edits work as mentioned but i have one more request.

I have a mod that shows how many topics a user created on their profile page, under their avatar on the "viewtopic" page, and the memberlist...

Is there a way to ensure this post count does not decrease as well?

Re: How to prune topics/posts without lowering overall count

Ok just two more question on this quote, its dumb. 1. How do you "comment out" the code? 2. I tried the edits in the first post of yours, and it only retains the total posts after pruning a forum (user only), not the topics. what code do i have to edit to maintain the Topic count for the users as we...

Re: How to prune topics/posts without lowering overall count

oh i see, so in my case i might not want to do any pruning at all then in order to 100% ensure that post counts are retained.

Re: How to prune topics/posts without lowering overall count

but lets say you do this:

1. I prune the forum
2. The users and board retain their topic and post counts
3. Then i hit resync.

Will hitting that resync button reduce the users and boards topic and post counts? or will the value they had after the prune still be maintained?

Re: Users being forced to login through CAPTCHA!

Is there any possible way of getting a listing of IP's that failed with their login attempts?

Does the PHPBB software track this sort of info?

Cause if you can see which IP's failed with their logins you can check it and then make a decision to block it

Re: How to prune topics/posts without lowering overall count

If after doing this, what happens if we use the resync posts and topics feature afterwards?

Re: BIG PROBLEM with Resynchronise post counts

Your SQL query has been executed successfully

UPDATE phpbb_users SET user_posts =0 WHERE user_id =5;# 1 row(s) affected.
UPDATE phpbb_users SET user_posts = user_posts +8317 WHERE user_id =5;# 1 row(s) affected.

Re: How to prune topics/posts without lowering overall count

I also just tried this method, and it is still the same result as before.

It's not a big deal or anything. but im just trying to speed up my forum, because there are alot of crawlers on the site all the time killing bandwith.

i already pay too much in hosting fees

BIG PROBLEM with Resynchronise post counts

So today is the first day ever that I tried to press the Resynchronise post counts option in the admin panel. Well i get a number of problems: 1. My users post counts is all out of line, some users are showing 16 million in posts, others now show ZERO. This looks very unprofessional and I got commen...
