Re: MacBook Air

Let's see... no swappable battery, no optical drive, one USB port. $1800 base price.

Uh. No.

I think they meant "without the guns, there'd be no trigger for a person to pull."

Maybe.

Re: New Install

The config.php file starts blank. :)

A 500 error is pretty generic, but you should be able to check your web server logs to get a better idea of what happened.

Re: My members can't see my forums

Can you see the forums while logged out? What is your usergroup setup like? Are most members just "Registered Users" or do you have some other specialized usergroups? I'd check your permissions and see if any are set to "Never"; if you use this setting it will override any "Yes" permissions that the...

Re: Global Moderators not showing up

You likely haven't marked the Global Moderators group as the "default" usergroup for these members. See more about this in the following thread:

Re: United States Gunlaw(s)

If guns cause murder, then matches cause arson.

While the laws may not be perfect now, the focus of any potential change shouldn't be pointed at the guns but rather at the people who use them.

Re: Help!

If you're having trouble posting to a forum that runs the phpBB software, or are trying to delete your user account from the same, you need to contact the person in charge of that forum. This support forum is for problems with the software or its administration.

Re: Repairing forum counts

On the front page of your ACP, there's an option to resynchronize users' post counts. On that same page, click Manage Forums; next to each forum's name there will be an orange "resynchronize" button (between the green "edit" and red "delete" buttons).

Re: Moderator username colour problem

The legend colors are based off of users' "Default" groups. See the following topic for a similar discussion and a probable solution: http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... end+colors

Re: Can someone help me install my phpbb forum?

Most of the time you can leave the DSN and port blank. What kind of web server or hosting service are you on? Unless your database server is running on a different machine or listening on an uncommon port, you almost certainly won't have to fill in those two fields.

Re: Confused about User Groups

Are you using the "Never" options for any groups' permissions? You have to really be careful about that one. If you use "Never" under "Can post without approval" for Registered Users, it's doing to deny any Registered User that ability regardless of what their individual or other usergroup permissio...

Re: Fatal error

If you need an individual file from the off-the-shelf phpBB, head to the downloads page. Just download the whole thing, extract the zip file on your computer, and dig through the folders until you find the one you need.

Re: RC6 to 3.0.0 ?

You don't need to do a full install -- just run {forumdir}/install/database_update.php from your web browser. :)
