Re: [19/02/07] Categories Hierarchy

I'm back. This mod is great, very complex, I especially like how different styles can be assigned to different forums. Very cool. However since I'm trying to set up a beta site that requires everything to be hidden from the general public, my requirements have me seriously modifying this mod and php...

Re: [19/02/07] Categories Hierarchy

Ok. I did just that. I installed a fresh 2.0.22 and ran the preinstall pack and I got the SAME ERROR?!?!?! This was after it did the little progress bar of 200 items. I even created a whole new database in MySQL. I'm going to try it on another computer to see if it's specific to my system. ***** Oh ...

Re: [19/02/07] Categories Hierarchy

wow, thanks for the fast response. Let me rephrase my concern. I don't have time to spend another week installing this mod. Can someone just provide me with the INSERT values for the three database items listed in the previous post? Someone please help me. I'm on the verge of having to flush this en...

Problem installing - database entries not created - need hel

I just got done putting this mod which took way longer than 3 hours, nonetheless it appears as though my database did not accept the fields of user_bot_agent, user_bot_ips, or user_dist. All the other fields were created that weren't already there without a hitch. I found what appears to be a hidden...

Re: Attachment Mod

I wanted to post this for anyone searching for a solution to this problem. I too had the EXACT SAME PROBLEM! What appears to have happened is that the install.php did run, but it did NOT in fact execute all of the SQL commands that were scripted into it. When it ran the schemas for mysql, there are ...

Re: security_question

Rockin! :D Works great! I can't suggest enough to take detailed notes about every change you make and on what line in which file, because this took longer than the suggested time. My forum is totally private, and instead of making the answer known it is on a piece of paper that the applicants receiv...

Re: Users Logins see viewonline.php instead of main index

Nevermind, , My bad. I found the problem it was a mistake I made in a change I made. See here: C:\xampp\htdocs\mysite\index.php Lines: 33 – 36 added: if ($userdata['user_id'] == ANONYMOUS) { redirect(append_sid("login.$phpEx?redirect=viewonline.$phpEx", true)); } The redirect for the session ...

Users Logins see viewonline.php instead of main index

Hi, I've modified my site so that the viewonline link has been removed and anonymous users are sent to the login page. However, users that have valid logins are sent to the viewonline.php automatically before having to click to go to the index. What do I have to change or add to the viewonline.php c...

Re: Need to remove a few things from sight on my site

ok, my hardened 36 year old brain is getting it. the <!-- BEGIN switch_user_logged_in --> and the <!-- END.... can be used anywhere I need the fields to be only visible by users logged in and anonymous viewers are out of luck. THANKS SO MUCH! I learned something today!!! Really this is a big thing i...

Re: Need to remove a few things from sight on my site

That worked great! I took the recommendation for #2 a little further and put it just after the definition for the page so that only the login and password prompts appear. Nothing else. I was staring at this same block of text last night before posting wondering what was I missing to make this work. ...

Need to remove a few things from sight on my site

I am modding a forum very heavily mainly for security and visibility reasons. I have a few concerns that I can not find answers to on this forum, google, on in the phpbb 2 book, Maybe some thoughtful experts can help me. 1) Once users log in, all I want them to see is the forums that I create for th...

Re: Turning Off Registrations?

I'm setting up a beta forum for my company and I have the same dilemna where my registration process follows a different path than that of the phpBB site. Here's what I'm doing; You can remove the link to registrations in the ovrall_header.tpl file, it's near the bottom Lines 261-263 (with TextPad.e...

Re: [2.0.15] Redirect anonymous users to login

Works great. I'm creating a private forum where I don't want people to be able to see user lists and such. I found that this MOD actually needs to included in any of the the menu php file such as search and index in it to make the same change as viewonline.php. If your view index link is active, pro...
