Re: Don't rewrite non http URLs in bbcode

Heo32 wrote: Fri Jun 01, 2018 4:59 pmAt the moment, it just doesn't seem right to have a link respond with google.com (<- go on, click it) when clearly https://www.google.com/ was the intended URL.
How do you know what is "intended"?

Re: Don't rewrite non http URLs in bbcode

Here's the problem, assuming bbcode works correctly in phpbb ideas: [url]google.com[/url] or even [url=google.com]test url[/url] google.com or even test url [url]http://google.com[/url] or even [url=http://google.com]test url[/url] http://google.com or even test url As you can see, URLs without htt...

Re: Prevent staff from editing root admin's posts?

Why would you need 'anything' for that? Just make sure that everyone on your staff understands that you don't edit each other posts (just pm the other mod when something needs to be rectified) . If you're a moderator and can't follow such simple guideline you clearly don't deserve that right in the ...

Re: What software is this website based off of?

really sucks that phpb is using wordpress, just new to phpbb but this really succks, it will make me lose confidence in phpbb Using wordpress when needing a blog is pretty much the only sane thing the phpBB team could do. It does what it is supposed to do as a blog, its maintained, etc, etc. Sure t...

Re: What software is this website based off of?

i have wordpress installed on my server, would it be somehow possible to replicate their wordpress template for myself? Sure that is possible, but you'll have to do it yourself or find someone to do it for you. The wordpress template used on this blog was created especially for this website and the...

Re: phpBB.com Tutorial forum

We also definitely don't want article authors to have unchecked ability to edit things without someone verifying their accuracy Permissions can quite easily be used to achieve that, it's already be done in announcements that way ;). You would satisfy that one goal, but consider how that would work....

Editing is technically handled as posting, if you can't post without approval you can't edit without approval. See that forum.

Re: phpBB.com Tutorial forum

I'd actually be in favour of this as a temporarily solution, the current KB is underused and hidden far out of sight of most users. Introducing a forum would immediately make the tutorials a lot easier to find and as an additional advantage it will indicate whether users actually are willing to writ...

Re: Out of memory for mass PM

What I mean is phpBB is saying memory_limit is set to 128Mb. Are you saying I should try 512Mb? Most people complaining about similar issues has it set to 2Mb or 8Mb, I would've thought 128Mb was plenty. Is that not correct? No, PHP is reporting that error. phpBB is just displaying an error that is...

Re: ACP White Screen of Death

As you don't have any MODs installed, replace the files with a new set. Upload all new files from a download of the full 3.0.11 version, except for config.php, the /images and /files folders. Go to yoursite.com/forumfolder/install/database_update.php Let that run and then delete the install folder. ...

Re: Help with crashed table

Restoring a blank users table will cause various issues as other database tables depend quite heavily on the users table. You should restore a backup of that table, if you don't have one then first contact your host. Chances are quite big that they can provide you with a backup of the database.

Re: HTML in the posts

I would like to have a HTML in the posts, but I don't know, how to activate it. I know, that it is NOT supported in this version of phpBB, so I'll ask for a modification. How can I do it? Is it some change in the source code or I'll post a new file in the FTP? Raw HTML isn't allowed as a security p...
