Re: System Tab in ACP

Thinking about this... I realized that the "left_id" and "right_id" have something to do with the position of the tab on the page and that I have overlapping id zones between different modules (where two modules were sharing an overlapping range of numbers). So I played around with moving the left a...

Re: System Tab in ACP

I sure am hoping I didn't shoot myself in the foot here. So my problem is similar... Lost the damn "System" tab. So I query the db (as listed in previous posts) and get the following: module_id: 27 module_enabled: 1 module_display: 1 module_basename: (empty field) module_class: acp parent_id: 0 left...

Re: Forum prune move

Don't know if you're the only one having the problem, but I think what was said previously still holds true: phpBB is not seeing the new column in the table. I ran the command from MySQL via my webhost and had no problems. I did have a little confusion over where to find the new mod in the ACP. But ...

Re: {U_VARIABLE} vs. {L_VARIABLE}

HA! Ok - so you realized that I missed describing a step there. hehe I really enjoy learning this stuff... So, yes - I also edited root > adm > index.php and inserted in it's proper place: 'U_PORTAL_INDEX' => append_sid("{$phpbb_root_path}/"), Thanks for taking the time to respond - I appreciate it ...

{U_VARIABLE} vs. {L_VARIABLE}

I did something successfully, by mimicking other code but I don't understand why it's working. I have installed the phpbb3 portal and wanted to include in the header of my ACP a direct link back to the portal. Here's what I did: OPENED root > language > en > acp > common.php INSERTED to an appropria...

Re: Adding custom profile field to memberlist

If someone has info on that, I'd also love to

A: know, so I can use it.
B: learn, so I can do it again with other things.

Re: Adding custom profile field to memberlist

Ah-HA! It is the template, not the php that needed to be modified. Ok. I understand. Little by little I learn. It worked perfectly - but of course you knew it would!

Thank you. I appreciate you taking the time to respond.

Adding custom profile field to memberlist

Using the ACP, I've added a custom field on registration that requires the user input their full name. I'd like to be able to have that field displayed on the memberlist page, but am having trouble sorting through code, tables and variables... Here's what I know. I have the "ADD USER" mod working pr...

Re: generate a rss feed

I'm using a mod I found called "Last RSS" which integrated perfectly. Now I've got scrolling news feeds that run underneath the menu bar - excellent tool. I got it on Star Trek Guide:

Re: Discuss: phpBB3 Gold Released

Thank you very very very very much. Used the auto update tool and the run from RC8 to 3.0.0 went absolutely smooth. YAY! Great job - really, this is absolutely an amazing system.

Re: RC8 discussion

I just wanted to send my thanks for creating a way to merge the new release with what I had set up using RC7. I did an update using my test site before doing the live site and it went 100% smooth using the automatic update tool. So I made my backups and did the live site. It went 99.9% smooth with a...

Small change to overall_header.html - site won't load

I was toying around with the file "overall_header.html" in the prosilver template (styles>prosilver>template>overall_header.html). All I did was add a link in the "linklist rightside" part of the code, to place a link right next to the FAQ link in the header. Once done, I uploaded the file. Then I w...

Re: Cache problem

Just had this happen to me... RC7 modded with 5 simple mods... Site loads with, what looks like, no stylesheet. A simple refresh of the browser takes care of the problem, but why does it happen in the first place? Any ideas or suggestions on how to offer more insight to this issue?

This is exactly what I need for my board... It would be a very valuable communication tool for my members.
