Re: [DEV] Facebook For PhpBB

It seems that your plugin is killing the ACP. Whenever I try to install the plugin, I cannot seem to follow the additional instructions for setting up the tab on the ACP, and when I try to log out and log back in (to see if this will give me the step I cannot follow), the ACP itself gives me this er...

Re: 'Notify me upon replies by default' set to YES by defaul

That will work, but wouldn't it ignore the user's setting in their profile? I would like them to be able to turn off the feature if they want. You're referring to the UCP option, not the posting page option, right? If so, try this in \includes\functions_user.php : Find: 'user_notify' => 0, Replace ...

Re: How do I force a date format?

Cool! This is good enough for me. I’m a big fan of standards, and I just wanted to make sure that what I set is the default. I’m not gonna get too teared up that I can’t prevent people from changing it, but not many ppl change the defaults anyhow. Especially on something as prosaic as the date forma...

Re: How do I force a date format?

There is no way to really force a default for the timezone or DST settings without running a SQL query on the database to do it. It is a user option and the software allows users to set their own. Worth noting that setting the ACP board setting options will apply to all new registrations until they...

How do I force a date format?

Greetings! Not sure if this is even an option, but I am curious how to ‘force’ a date format. I would still like users have the ability to choose their own time zone, but I would like to set DST to default to ‘yes’ (it wouldn’t even show up in their options) and for the date/time format to default t...

Why does PHPBB3 make use of “FAKE” utf-8??

I just wanted to know: Why does PHPBB 3.0 make use of “fake” utf-8? Sure, the fully assembled and parsed web page gets delivered as utf-8, but the original PHP files are still in ASCII format, which forces the developers to make use of character codes to bring in special characters, such as bullets:...

Installation - IIS6 & MSSQL2005 problems

Greetings, My system: Windows Server 2003 SP2 IIS 6 MSSQL 2005 ( NOT Express!) When installing, I come across one big problem and one annoying problem. First, the very big one. At the very last step, when I move to the “Final Stage” of the install, I get this error message: General Error SQL ERROR [...
