Re: ACP: where are required registration fields?

I was under the impression you could simply select the following option to make the field compulsory:
Required field:
Force profile field to be filled out or specified by user. This will display the profile field at registration and within the user control panel.

Re: Help with new buttons

You'll need to edit a template file called "overall_header.html". Edit the section where you see: <ul class="linklist rightside"> ... </ul> Add another <li></li> with your link. You can find the template file in the phpbb3/styles/<theme>/template/ folder. If you edit the overall_header.html file man...

Re: [ALPHA] Integration for DokuWiki

If you're not liking DokuWiki, there is a MediaWiki authentication integration project on MediaWiki. I've been thinking of switching to MediaWiki for easier data backup and extra features like versioning.

If you want to try and you're using Windows, you can use WinMerge. :) There are similar utilities for other platforms.

Re: Embedding Links?

The short answer is no. phpBB does not support WYSIWYG editing. You can add JavaScript to create a URL dialog, but it will add the code via [url] syntax, just as it would otherwise. It won't embed the link in the posting area. Of course, you might be able to find a WYSIWYG script for phpBB's post ed...

Re: Style Disappears with Recompile Option

Thanks for the response. :) Yes, I am editing the files in the template folder using Eclipse. As I mentioned, things work fine when I refresh manually through the Styles tab in the ACP. To clarify, it's not that my changes to the template don't appear when the Recompile option is on, it's that there...

Style Disappears with Recompile Option

I'm working on a theme on a local Windows box with a fresh installation of phpbb 3.0 (no mods). I've tried to use the "Recompile stale style components" option to reduce the tedious process of refreshing the theme each time I change something, but when I activate the option all of my styling just di...

Re: Customise My phpBB Forum ;)

You have to refresh the theme after you make modifications. See this thread.

Re: Styles not showing modifications.

I just ran into this too... It's a bit obnoxious. Styles and themes are not the same, and if you change a style, you don't necessarily change the attached theme (or imageset, etc.). On the Styles tab of the ACP you'll see a list on the left which includes "Styles", "Templates", "Themes", and "Images...

Re: [BETA] Integration for DokuWiki

The filename for the phpbb3 auth class should be phpbb3.class.php , otherwise DokuWiki returns a bad authentication configuration error. Also, anyone trying to set this up should make sure to change $phpbb_root_path = (defined('PHPBB_ROOT_PATH')) ? PHPBB_ROOT_PATH : '../'; in phpbb3.class.php to the...

Re: It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image

I use dreamhost as well, the code posted before is a great workaround, but the image x and y were placed reverted, hence it will say "Your images may only be up to 150 pixels high." if you have a 200 (width) x 50 (height). With my limited programming knowledge, I just reverted the imagesx and image...
