Re: Can't re-enable board after server move

Forgot to mention - I checked the config.php file and everything appears to be correct for the new server and db as well.

Can't re-enable board after server move

Hey guys - one of the phpBB sites I run is shared with a buddy of mine who hosts it on one of his servers. He moved it to a new server recently, and ever since then we have had the "This board is currently disabled." message displaying. I try to re-enable it through the ACP, but the change won't sti...

Re: Couple of questions about a move to a new domain and server

Thanks Adam - file attached

One thing I realized is that the old board had a few things installed that I haven't added to the new board yet - they are a photo gallery mod, the Ajax shoutbox/chat mod, and the tufat chat room. Could these be a part (or all) of the problem?

Re: Couple of questions about a move to a new domain and server

Adam - config.php is indeed pointing to the correct database (the one for the new board) Table prefix on the config.php reads as such: $table_prefix = 'phpbb_'; I wasn't sure if by the first 30 lines, you meant from the beginning of the file itself or where the table structure begins, so this is a l...

Re: Couple of questions about a move to a new domain and server

The site was originally a phpBB2 site when it was first put together a few years ago, but it was converted to phpBB3 once it became available. I double-checked to make sure I didn't export the wrong database when I was preparing for hte bigdump process, but after checking into it, it was the correct...

Re: Couple of questions about a move to a new domain and server

OK, I ran the database import and everything ran fine with no reported errors.

However, when I go to view the forums index page, I am getting this error:

SQL ERROR [ mysqli ]

Unknown column 'is_static' in 'where clause' [1054]

Can anyone tell me what my next step is?

Re: Couple of questions about a move to a new domain and server

Oh, one last thing that I asked earlier but may have gotten overlooked -

When I upload my backed up database to the dump directory, should it be in the zipped up format or extracted (on my hard drive)?

Excellent. Thanks again, brf - the support is greatly appreciated. 8-)

Re: Couple of questions about a move to a new domain and server

Right - I understand that and see your reason for uploading that data from those two directories. I am just wondering if I can leave the rest of my root files from the new install as they are without uplaoding any of the backups from the old server.

Re: Couple of questions about a move to a new domain and server

Oh, wait - I think I see what you are saying. Just upload those specific folders. Is that correct? And just not worry about uploading any other files from the old phpBB backup?

Re: Couple of questions about a move to a new domain and server

Thanks, brf - When I created the new board, I used phpBB 3.0.5 and Stargate Portal 1.0.2. I've been waiting to upgrade to phpBB 3.0.6 until the new version of Stargate is released to be compatible with it. The old board was still at phpBB 3.0.4 and an earlier version of Stargate. With this said, sho...

Re: Couple of questions about a move to a new domain and server

OK, but I'm still wondering if I can just import the old database without uploading my backup phpBB files.. Can somebody tell me if I can upload the database backup via bigdump and not replace the existing phpBB files that I already have up on the new server? For that matter, when I upload the datab...

Re: Couple of questions about a move to a new domain and server

Thanks, Adam - that is indeed the documentation I was talking about. lol I'm backing things up now, and I thought of something - I already have phpBB3 and the stargate portal files installed on the new site. Can I just do the database portion of the transfer and skip the backup and subsequent reload...
