there are two places - not two files ;) so pretty much just do something like this... find $message = str_replace("\n", "<br />", $message); where there isn't a call to word_wrap_pass imediatly after it. once you've found it, add the following after it: $message = word_wrap_pass($message); and that ...

err... yeah - i might modcp, heh :)

those who have the simply merge hack installed will probably have to do that above addition (well, without the two \n's around the <br>) twice (ie. after you find the str_replace line, you'll have to find another one, after it).

thanks for the screenshots! anyway, this should fix it: find the following in bbcode.php: if ($curChar == ' ' || $curChar == "n") and replace it with this: if ($curChar == ' ' || $curChar == "\n") an updated version of the mod will be submitted to phpbb.com, shortly, and can, in the interim, be down...

it actually worked for me in both those browsers at 1024x768 even before i suggested you lower the wrap value, heh. as for why firefox might require a lower number than IE... variable width fonts (where i and m, for example, don't have the same widths) may be affecting it, as might css / html that i...

I didn't check if it will still break the tables when its quoted, but if you look at the link I post it shows you that as a regular post it breaks the tables. i actually did look at it (in IE6 and Firefox 1 at 1024x768 resolution), and didn't see the tables being widened at all, heh. for that matte...

so the problem only occurs when the url's being quoted? if so, the best way to fix that is probably to just lower the default wrap amount from 70 to something lower (you'd probably have to guess and check to find a good number). if you don't have the user config add-on installed, this is pretty easy...

It will be interesting to see if this breaks apart long lines in my [pre] bbcode hack (which basically uses a <pre> html tag). i actually don't think it will work with that. had to test it out just to make sure, but the <pre> tag will prevent word wrapping even on strings with nothing but spaces in...
