Re: UNIX time just rolled over

Hopefully you are correct. You probably are correct but I guess only time will tell.

At the very worst, we've got 30 years to prepare for it. So I think everything will be ok. :) (I hope so anyway, LOL)

Re: Teenage Pregnancy

That's a good point, SamG, but I've got a question: What would be a better way to go about it? You have a point. I do however, believe that most of it lies more in the way it has been proformed in the past, rather than the approach itsself. But you are correct that they often fail to show and teach ...

Re: UNIX time just rolled over

Firstly, 64-bit systems are starting to pop up, so I guess that in 10 years or so basically every computer will be 64-bit, with timestamps redefined as 64-bit long. Yes, but what about those who never upgrade? And you might be surprised how many people don't. I am constantly amazed at how many peop...

Re: Teenage Pregnancy

This is a very good topic of discussion. Liquinn (OP) - I agree almost 100%. Techie-Micheal - Yeah that comment might not make you popular, but what's important is that you are speaking your mind. Even when you disagree with the other person. (And doing it civilly.) That is a very good thing to do, ...

Re: UNIX time just rolled over

I had also wondered about that. I never did any research on it, or even thought about when the year would be. (I do appreciate this information!) Yes this is somthing that everybody (myself included) should start thinking about if they are not already. Just remember that in the 70's and early 80's, ...

Re: Communities that remove fairly new users

Of course I'm pretty much famous on the Internet OT(sorry) Do you think I could trouble you for your autograph? :D Jim LOL :) Seriously, yes I post on high-profile sites all over the Internet. I am involved with many organizations that continuiously change the way things are done. You have probably...

Re: Communities that remove fairly new users

That's a good point but sometimes it's not quite that simple... On my board, many people have never posted but they PM each other (and/or me) and stuff like that. Before my board grew it was really just my personal board. That was really all I ever wanted it to be. Of course I'm pretty much famous o...

Re: should we have a suggestion board

Should there be a "Suggestion Board"? I vote for "yes". Unless there is another board on this site where it is highly appropriate to discuss things like that. (If there is, somebody please inform me. I was unaware of such.) Otherwise I think it would be a good thing.

Re: United States Gunlaw(s)

Yup, agree. Bannings only stop people from buying the shops, people would still get them :< /me hopes you all understand what I'm trying to say~ It's a simple economic answer. You ban something, for good or bad, you create a black market for it which drives crime. Take for example the prohibition o...

Re: proxies, gibberish names, and other online abuses

Like I said, I won't go into it but my point was...they block good, innocent sites and resources such as Wikipedia while my forum had* a "bad" name and content that a lot of people don't support. If you want to know more: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warez TY very much for that read! I know a...

Re: New Jersey Bans The Death Penalty

The Awesomest Dude - if you plan on using links, please do not just link to a list of topics, especially from your own site. Also, this isn't a government bashing topic. Keep on topic please. Oh I didn't realise that was against the rules. Sorry about that. I won't do it again. I read the rules (an...

Re: New Jersey Bans The Death Penalty

You are wrong in thinking that all criminals can be rehabilitated. There are clearly exceptions to this and whilst I would concede that some may be rehabilitated I doubt that is true of the vast number of murderers some of whom lack any morals whatsoever. I could go on all night typing in examples ...

Re: Communities that remove fairly new users

I have seen a variety of forums, than ban ppl for posing too often, or just for being fairly new, even if they don't post inappropriate pics or flood with non-existant links.. That looks to me like they don't want users. For real? I've never known that to happen but that's pretty lame. If they don'...

Re: United States Gunlaw(s)

If guns were outlawed, only outlaws would have guns. ;) Then the burden is on the parents to a) teach their children about firearms and b) lock the firearms away. Yes, especially #a. If ANYBODY (of any age) wants ANYTHING bad enough, they WILL get it. Period. There is nothing that anybody can do abo...
