Re: Posts take 20 seconds to submit

Posts take 20 seconds to submit

I'm running PHPBB 3.0.1 and each time I press submit on a reply on my forum, it takes almost exactly 20/21 seconds before it finishes posting and submitting.

My users are getting more and more agitated and I need a solution.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Users can't register functions_user error

Hi all, Pretty urgent issue as nobody is able to sign up on our site at the moment. We've just moved our site to a brand new server and since doing so it seems that sign ups don't work (usually get 50 or so a day, and had none over the weekend). Done a bit of debugging and it seems that in the funct...

Re: Use custom database query values as part of $user

In fact, If i did just write a mod that could calculate the number of comments and populate the fields automatically, running it as a one off script then modifying the post function of the comment system to automatically increase the comment counter - how can I access that new variable from the data...

Re: Use custom database query values as part of $user

My suggestion would be add another column to the user table to hold the count, create a mod that updates the count whenever a comment is added and have a one off script to update the database with the current counts. I've mentioned in my original post that this sort of workaround couldn't be done d...

Use custom database query values as part of $user

Ok, here's an example of what i'm trying to do. A user on my site can log in and make comments on various things, I want an additional value as part of the $user[] array, for example $user['total_comments'] which stores the total number of comments made by that user. I cannot simply add another fiel...

Re: Minimum post count before PM allowed

This isn't a mod request... I've actually written some code to do this myself. Open includes/ucp/ucp_pm.php Find: case 'compose' change $action = request_var('action', 'post'); get_folder($user->data['user_id']); if (!$auth->acl_get('u_sendpm')) { trigger_error('NO_AUTH_SEND_MESSAGE'); } include($ph...

Minimum post count before PM allowed

Is this possible? I've just had my board attacked by spammers overnight, and had to clean out over 20,000 PM's.

Can I have it so that there's a minimum post count before members can send Private messages? Say 10 posts

3.0.1 keeps locking tables - server run out of connections

As per the title really, I have a small(ish) forum, with around 150 users online at any given time. 50,000 posts or thereabouts. Basically, I keep getting the problem where it says 'Too Many Connections'. I'm on dedicated premium hosting and have 100 connections set available to my server. I've chec...

Re: Manually force cache purge

Hi Paul, The thing is, I am trying to cache comments made by any particular user with a where clause. Basically, I created a new profile page so that users can have comments left on their page. So for example, when a user has a new comment left on their page, it will destroy the cache for the query,...
