Why not to use "change_columns" simply?
Change columns is for changing type - it specifically states not for changing name

Reading the UK Government's latest plan of getting proof of age for access to sites GDPR will seem like a "walk in the park"

I trully beleive there are many people wanting that extra option.

Re: Overriding template from inside an Extension

If you are meaning that you want to replace core posting_editor.html with your own version of that file then the answer is that you cannot. My other option is to rewrite the extension
A bit drastic just to rename a column.

Out of interest why do you need to re-name a column?

Re: Migration change column

Is it in the CDB? If not then you can, if you wish, do whatever you want. If not then it will be more difficult - you could try adding the new column, copy the data from the old column and then drop the old column.

Well.. only development team can answer this. We don't know how, what, when or why, but seems to be like something in wordpress. As we lack on info there's nothing more to add or speculate.

Re: upload extension

this will be a core future that will let one to activate and update extensions from cdb I don't think that is 100% correct. Yes it is a core feature, but it will allow an Admin to upload extensions (not sure about styles and languages) from a repository that is configurable in the ACP. So it would ...
