phpBB usernames work with spaces in them without any problem and have done for years which means that the problem is at the Joomla end.

There is no "auto update" that happens without your intervention. With phpBB all updates have to be instigated by the board Admin

There are two possibilities that come to mind - ei9ther you have disabled the site logo extension or the image that you used is not at the place it was at before.

phpBB does not have any "plugins", it has extensions - so are we talking about the same thing? Also I have not heard of a "export/import users" extension but the permissions for any extension are defined by the extension author and whilst it would be possible to change them you would need to know wh...
