Could you write step by step instruction "How to update from 2.1.0-rc1 into version 2.1.0-rc5" ?
  • Disable RC1
  • Delete data for RC1
  • Delete all the files via FTP
  • Upload the files for RC5
  • Enable RC5

Re: IP Blackhole Check for registration only?

It does say in the ACP
This lookup may take a while, depending on the server’s configuration. If slowdowns are experienced or too many false positives reported it is recommended to disable this check.

Re: [3.2][RC] Privacy Policy

@mdkdio - both of those lists of modules are incorrect. I am not sure but it looks as if you may not have updated correctly. My suggestion would be to disable and delete data for the extension and then via ACP > System > Module management ensure that all of the modules have been removed as there is ...

Re: New GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and phpBB

okay this is one long arse topic so gfar, what is it you suggest we add to a phpbb forum to comply. I am guessing that you have not read all of this topic (can't blame you there) but the point is that it is up to each individual board owner to make the necessary choices as to what needs to be done ...

Re: Hosting Space Question

As we don't know what space you have now it is difficult to say but if you are running WP then I would guess that certainly in the initial stages you would have enough to run phpBB as well. You may find that you wil need to increase your webspace in time.

back then there wasn't really much, if any, css around. most styling was done inline with the html.
If I recall correctly - didn't you learn that on your mother's lap

Re: Confusion about sentence in ACP - CPF

If you think that it reads better, and is clearer, then create a ticket in the Bug Tracker to get it changed in the core.

I do agree that it could be phrased a bit clearer.

Re: Confusion about sentence in ACP - CPF

In tests that I have done I have not encountered any problems and it works as I outlined above. However I will add that I do not have a true multi language board - I just add other languages when I need to test something.

the one that you changed/added (to any language packs installed on your board)
The CPF language definitions are not in the language pack but in their own table in the database

Re: Confusion about sentence in ACP - CPF

My understanding, having been working around this area, is that if you do not have a definition in your, or the user's, language then the default language definition for that CPF (which on a vanilla install will be English) will be used. I do not believe that it refers to the default, or any other, ...

Re: [3.2][RC] Privacy Policy

Is it really necessary to display "No data has been entered" for every field that was not filled in? If it is not required by law, I think not displaying it at all would be a better idea. Is it necessary? That is debatable. My view is that if you show the user the possible data fields that they cou...

Re: [3.2][RC] Privacy Policy

I'm not 100% sure, but I think that language strings should be the same on both tabs (in UCP - Profile and in UCP - Privacy Data) and it shouldn't matter what is written in CPF setting. CPFs do not use language strings from the language files but whatever is entered fir that CPF in the CPF lang tab...
