Re: Pruning forums

Every year or so I try to give the forum a good spring cleaning and keep only the the valuable information or memorable topics. This works out well - we don't loose anything precious, but we also get to start over again with a clean forum. IOn "chat" boards there might not be much value in historica...

Re: So far, my impression on phpbb 3 olympus

Hi all.. I just had to stop in and post-- although I am typically a lurker. I just wanted to say that I have been looking at a zillion open sources programs from CMS to Blogs to Board to -- you name it. We actually installed over 80 in the past 4 weeks. I have had problems with all of them o...

Re: New Jersey Bans The Death Penalty

I support the death penalty for premeditated murder. I'm not really sure what advantages the death penalty has. It does let the murderer know exactly how horrible the crime which he has committed is, but then again, he doesn't live to know it. It does eliminate a rather dangerous person from repeat...

Re: Prosilver style: first impressions

It's quite weird actually...

The head of my technical administration team loves it, but the head of my moderation team hates it. We ended up adapting a theme which catered to both their interests.

I'd like to know where you got this from as the largest bulletin board in the world is based off of phpBB.

Re: How long have you been using phpBB?

I'm about 4 & a half years old! :D In April, 2003 I joined my first online community. It was pretty big, as I remember, with about 30 or so thousand members. About two months after I joined I won the MOTM (Member Of The Month) award for helping solve a conflict. Shortly after I was promoted to moder...

Re: phpBB3 - Im disapointed....

I didn't mean facts as in, "Wow! phpBB3 costs nothing, while VB costs $160 dollars!" No. I meant facts as in. "VBulletin is better than phpBB3. Period."

Sorry about the misunderstanding! :D

Re: phpBB3 - Im disapointed....

Comparing phpBB3 to VB just isn't reasonable.

Let's face the music. The choice has nothing to do with actual fact, and everything to do with personal opinion and circumstantial variables.

Re: PHPBB Team

Try to find women who are active in the phpBB community day in and day out. You won't find many. As startling as it may seem, I was a women when I last checked. I'd say the main reason us women folk appear to be slacking in terms of clicking the "register" button is that we have the common sense to...
