Re: Automatic avatar resize on 3.0.11?

The above code does exactly what I've needed on my forum.
So much simpler now for users to upload their avatar. Thanks!

Re: Attached Images Resizer, Converter & File Size Reducer

Yes, root php.ini edits were needed which were made on the shared host as well as the vps we are on now.
If a shared host isn't willing to make those edits then it's time to move to a different host, this shouldn't be a reason to not have the feature.

Re: Attached Images Resizer, Converter & File Size Reducer

Agreed. Before I did the MOD to 3.0, users had so much trouble it was rediculous. Now I have it so image uploads are automatically resized even if the image is 5 mb and larger and big enough resolution to fill a billboard! A 5 mb file gets resized on the server end to a very small fraction of the o...

Re: [DEV] ReIMG Image Resizer

Glad to see you're working on this! I am on a VPS with 60 GB plan with attachments that were approaching almost 8 gigs worth. After resizing all of them manually (pain) I got that down to less than 3 gigs so yeah, this extension is most appreciated if it will resize the image upon upload to save ser...

Re: Forum prune move to

I am making a list of the MODS we currently run on 3.0 and need to run smoothly with little moderator actions and maintenance. This is one I need for a motorcycle parts forum I just started as well. It's a much needed feature because the posts/threads are left in tact in case there ever arises a nee...

Re: [RC] Attachments in subfolders

I figured it out. The solution is simple as moving the attachments from the sub folders that were created by this mod into the files root directory and the attachments work once again in 3.1. I tried this on only 2 attachments so far (including their thumbnails) on a update install of 3.1 from 3.0.1...

Re: [RC] Attachments in subfolders

Looking at database of the attachments, the file name doesn't have a folder number associated with it in the name that I see right off. I suppose a script that moves or copies all the attachment files into one directory like they were before this MOD and changes whatever file name associations (if a...

Re: [RC] Attachments in subfolders

you can't run 3.0 MODs in 3.1 at all. you have to wait for the MOD to be converted to an extension before you can use it in 3.1 robert Yes I am aware of this which is why I asked if a reversal of this mod has been developed in order to update to 3.1 without breaking all the attachments. A reversal ...

Re: [RC] Attachments in subfolders

Hi wile, there is no function to revert changes back, but it's quite easy to do it manually, going through all steps in reverse order and deleting the added code. About the files, it's quite easy to create a script that scans all subfolders in the "files" folder and moves all files in the main fold...

Re: Attachment files - Can I resize them?

What if the files aren't .jpgs? .mov clips have been uploaded as well as png's, gifs etc. and I haven't seen any problem with them with this MOD in place. Honestly I don't know what my method of converting and resizing the old attachments is doing to them because it is so difficult and time consumi...

Re: Attachment files - Can I resize them?

I know this is an old thread but I wanted to chime in about this MOD that is does work very well and I have had no complaints from any of my users of the resized images. Actually, because it does auto resize the images I haven't had any issues from members that they cannot upload attachments because...

Re: Attached images do not appear in quotes. Workaround?

I agree the attachments should be in order with the text but my guy says that would require a major rewrite of the board software.
It would be great if someone could pick this up.
