I had the same problem, but with just 1 user. I found it due to some improper cookie settings on my board, only reason I think that, is because when I fixed my cookies (problem with people not staying logged in). you shouldn't have to chmod 777 anything.

What I would suggest, is you find out the login/password/database name of your mysql account, and do a clean install of phpbb3

none that I'm aware of, most people have popups :-)

An alternative would be to have newly registered users get a PM with a welcome message upon logging in for the 1st time.

Reinstall a clean install of phpBB3, once that's complete, just edit your config.php file to point to the table prefix you created from your initial conversion.

Yep, that script looks like it gets everything, including some tables/fields I missed.

You can't use the same prefix, unless you create another database to put it in. The install script won't let you try and overwrite the tables that exist with that prefix

I actually run my own Windoze box and I have the current PHP and MySQL installed. I tried using BigDump and it errors out after a couple minutes saying there is an error in the MySQL syntax and it actually shows a couple paragraphs from the post_text table.
