Re: Single User Having SQL Errors

It's not a problem with 3.0.12... Thanks for the helpful information! Is there a possible workaround like filtering such characters within phpBB before posting to the database? It may not be a problem with phpBB itself, but as a general problem it is also effecting phpBB-postings - which is very an...

Re: [Discuss] phpBB goes green

Nice work! Congratulations! Offsite content on our discussion boards is being redirected to a Camo server through a template hook, so you should never see mixed content warnings while browsing any part of our sites. A complete 'howto" including template-hook would be nice - perhaps as a blog-post? O...

Re: [Discuss] The dangers of ASCII mode

By the way, this basic ASCII-problem is not only with FileZilla. The " Super Flexible File Synchronizer " for example also uses the ASCII-transfer for files without endings, if not altered first in the settings. This seems to be some kind of "religious" problem, depending on what each developer beli...

Re: URL to delete topics

Then the best would be to write little php-Script using the 'delete_topics' function in 'includes/functions_admin.php', run it and be happy. If you know a little php, this is kind of easy (with additional ressources found on phpbb.com), or find someone who is willing and able to do this for you (bas...

Re: <!-- blah == 1 question....

In general, your coding seems to be correct. I see two possible sources of mistakes here: 1.) The value of the variable depends on your function get_user_hpk() - check this first. 2.) Is the template-var USER_HPK a BLOCK-var? Then you need to add the blockvar to the variable in the template file, e....

Re: $userdata['user_level']

then use if ($auth->acl_get('a_')) { } checks if current user has any kind of admin-Rights (If you still want to use a check for Founder-Status, you don't have to check if the user is registered - guest and bots can't be founders ;-). Also you should prefer using the variable USER_FOUNDER instead of...

Re: $userdata['user_level']

user_level exactly, a 'user_level' value doesn't exist in an original installation Though i see everyone using user_level == ADMIN so thats why i guessed it should work :D that's old stuff from phbBB 2.x ;) phpBB 3.x uses $auth to check for individual admin-rights, or user_type for FOUNDER-Status. ...

Re: Rounded Corners in Internet Explorer

Internet Explorer does NOT support this CSS3 rounded-corner feature (IE9 will do, I think). This KB-article only works with browsers supporting this. To quote the article: The cons are that it adds some empty divs to your markup in IE, & IE7(+) still needs images, but hey, didn't you guess that when...

A patch-file without any support would be completely sufficient to me. So thanks in advance if you could deliver that. STK is indeed more important!

[...] to help skilled admins for writing their own routines if they know what they do [...] So where's the problem? I would code my own token and run its text through a regexp pattern. Done. Or is extending phpBB beyond "skilled admins" already? Of course, my boards are heavily modded with more tha...

Re: Custom BBCodes

Why can't phpBB call a "sanitize" function on {TEXT} used inside HTML tags? Is sanitizing a string that difficult? It's done to prevent SQL injection and HTML injection in phpBB already. I understand that XSS is not ever that simple as in these examples. There are a lot of known and still unknown v...
