Re: Snitz to phpbb

Oh, I noticed that it happens after, because of the way I generate ID for the first post (they have higher IDs than the remaining posts). I thought to change the convertor to generate IDs in increasing order. I also started writing a convertor directly to v3. But I didn't finish that. As you suggest...

Re: Snitz to phpbb

Actually I was able to reproduce the problem. It happened after I ran the convertor to 3.0.1. I'm still looking into it.

I converted a forum from Snitz 3.4.05 to phpBB 2.0.23 and the topics's author seems correct. Can you point me to a to...

Oops, I thought MyISAM was required...

SpongeWeb: I will look into the problem with author's threads. It seems like a bug in my scripts.

Re: Snitz to phpbb

All went well apart from 2 things. 1) from the old board, the author isnt the author, its the last person who posted before the conversion, I have allready upgraded to phpbb3 now, is there a way to change or resync this? :( That's interesting. Were the authors displayed correctly before converting ...

I really should include this patch in the official convertor! It's hard to dig for it :).

Re: Snitz to phpbb

You need to edit the database manually and enter the encryption for a known password. For instance this the encryption for password 'ral' (quotes are for clarity): ec2cbb555d45face1f8dc619edbcc1bb. You can go to http://www.phpbbhacks.com/md5.php and find the encryption for any password you want :). ...

Hm... if you have shell access it's better to run the scripts from command line, not through the browser. Try to run php members.php etc. I hope it works like this.

If you see the code of the scripts, it looks like that you don't have php support on your web server.

Now i have to figure out the passwords problem... ;)
I guess you'll have to reset their passwords, unless the passwords were in md5 format in the snitz database (or in clear text).

Re: Snitz to phpbb

I'm wondering if max_execution_time in php.ini is set to very low values (by default its 30 seconds). Unless the system is extremely slow, this should not be a problem. Also, if you're running the script from command line you can avoid browser timeout, which also might be set to 30 seconds in Apache.

Re: Snitz to phpbb

Now, the strange thing is: it does convert my tables, but only a part of them... for example, it usually converts 260-280 users (of about 2800 total) and then stops, but no error is given. Same for posts and replies. Looks like it "overflows" at a certain point and stops the script, and maybe it ca...

Re: Snitz to phpbb

Last time I checked with Snitz version 3.4.05 and it was working fine. There weren't major changes in 3.4.06 so my guess is that it should work with it too.
