Re: Old admin getting system emails

Thanks for the pointers. That gave me the information I needed to track down why he is getting the email. He was set as a "Founder" which gave him full admin access.

Old admin getting system emails

Greetings. I have a strange situation. An old administrator is still getting new user activation emails. I have set up the site so that Account activation is "by admin" and have confirmed he is not in the "admin" group. Any ideas as to why he's getting copies of these messages? T...

Other dynamic fields in email templates

Greetings. I was wondering if there was a list of what fields are available when a email message is generated. For example, when a watched topic has a new post, the "topic_notify.txt" email template is used to send out an email to all the users watching that topic. I would like to include ...

Re: Adding Group Membership on topic view...

I've gotten a couple of requests for this feature from club members. We use groups to denote Board Of Directors , Paid Club Members , Club Sponsors , etc. It's nice that the User Name is colored to reflect the primary group they are in, but it would be nice to also have the groups they are members o...

Re: Daylight savings time?

Nobody has a workaround script yet? For manually setting every user's DST setting? It sounds like an awful lot of us are going to have to run a script like that twice a year, at least until this debate about appropriate design plays out. My users don't care very much about the academic debate about...

Re: Daylight savings time?

you could have a lookup table to determine when the clock should be adjusted. (if at all) It wouldnt work. Different countries use the same numerical timezone, but go on DST at different times. Mexico, for instance, uses the same numerical timezone as US Central time, but they are not on DST until ...

[DEV] Daylight savings time

I am evaluating creating a MOD that will automatically adjust the user's time to reflect DST. This is based on this thread: http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=821255&p=4669795#p4669795 I am in the process of doing some research and will post my approach to handling this here...

Re: Daylight savings time?

Well, there you go. I'd suggest you start with a mod, so be sure to PM me when you post your work. It being so easy and all, I expect you should have it up relatively quickly  Wow - that's constructive. I guess you're a "glass is half empty" kind of guy. I never said it would be eas...

Re: Daylight savings time?

Each user is already setting a flag and their time zone so it shouldn't be any different than me setting my XP workstation when I first set it up and forget about it. I guess a majority of the development team is in countries that don't follow DTS or else they would see what a shortcoming this is. ...

Re: Daylight savings time?

Well... How would the forum software tell when they are supposed to go on DST? The server knows what time it is, and adjusts to DST. That's great, if you happen to live in the same room as the server. How about your users that live in places where they don't do DST at all? Should they have to go an...

Re: Daylight savings time?

I had it set in the global settings but didn't notice it in the UCP. I would think this is something you would want to automate at the user level since most people won't have a clue as to how to do this. (just like our workstations automatically adjust) I am sure many countries don't have a daylight...

Daylight savings time?

I noticed the forums time (here and at my site) is off an hour now that Daylight Savings Time kicked in. Is this something phpBB should adjust automatically? I've got my system set for UTC - 5 hours...

What do I need to do to correct this?

TIA.

Conversion phpBB2.0 - phpBB3.0 for a second time

Greetings. We recently installed phpBB3.0 and converted our 2.0 forums to the new installation. (in a new folder/database) We tested it and made modifications to suite our needs. Now we want to run the conversion routines a second time to get the latest snapshot of our forums. (there has been a lot ...

Re: [REQUEST] Spell Check Feature

Nathan released phpSpell v1.0.6r which supports phpBB 3.0 right out of the box! I have integrated it into our 3.0 board without any problems. Check out his site for the latest version:

Re: Basic "hello world" not working

So no one has any ideas on what to look at to resolve this problem? I don’t want to give up but I haven’t heard from anyone in a while. Am I going to have to take a static snapshot of my layout and use it instead? That really stinks since it would be nice to not only include the dynamic phpBB user i...
