I figured it wasn't there and that was the reason, but why it wasn't there concerned me.

I didn't post this before, but my board is an original 1.4.4 upgrade to RC 2.0 then upgraded to RC 3.0 then to 4 then to final. The board has no mods and is using MySQL with php 4.1.2. (I think it's 4.1.2)

I had a very similar thing happen on my board. It turned out to be a spidering program from www.whizbang.com. I did an nslookup on them and actually contacted them to ask what they were doing. One of their owners sent me the following info: Hi Doug - The company I work for, Whizbang Labs, does infor...

Seems as though RC 2.0 was not deleting old user groups and leaving garbage in the table "Auth_access".

All of my groups, even new groups are hidden to basic users when they are set to open. My borad is a 1.4.4 > RC 2.0 > RC 3.0 upgrade. I see it's logged, just sharing my results.

figuring out permissions

I'm dealing with an issue right now where one of my self-made users has mod abilities in all of my forums. I've gone through and made sure this user is not in a group, and that the user name has no special abilities including admin rights and is not a moderator of any forum. My board was an upgrade ...

Hi DC, thanks for the reply :) The only reason why I ask about ftp is because I backed up my old forum using the backup tool on phpBB2. I did not apply Gzip compression (as it wa not selected by default and being a newbie - I didn't feel too adventurous!) I moved web hosts and now I am trying to re...

When I did my test upgrade to RC 3.0 I was missing the Admin and Moderator within the [] [] tags. I fixed it by updating the language files with the current RC 3.0 release files. I don't know if this will fix it for you, but it was the only thing I changed and it fixed it for me. If you've made adju...
