Re: .heic support

I would hope that AVIF has support in the current version? It offers much better compression than PNG or JPEG with support for higher color depths, animated frames, transparency, etc. Most browsers support it now.

Re: Forum icon SVGs broken in 3.3.11

Thanks, that fixed it. I searched the "changed files only" folders for content.css when I did the update but for some reason it did not come up. I was using Windows File Explorer to search, and it can be flaky, which is probably why I did not find it.

Forum icon SVGs broken in 3.3.11

My SVG forum icons are either supersized or not displaying at all after this update in Safari, FF and Edge, but not Chrome. Cache cleared, does not help. Running PHP 8.2

Can someone else please check by trying to add a svg as a forum icon?

Re: WEBP still not working as image attachment

According to some statistics online WebP is used by less than 5% of websites in 2022. Sure, but if you look at big commercial websites, it's much more common. https://w3techs.com/technologies/details/im-webp And the trend is moving up. You can take a 150kb image and make it a 20kb image with webp, ...

Re: webp file support

It actually is working , but only if you ADD it as an image format yourself. Silly. Get with it, phpbb developers!

That's just stupid. Make it work by default. It's a very common (and efficient!) image format. Hey, it's 2022 people 💡💡

WEBP still not working as image attachment

Supposedly .webp images were allowed as image attachments in 2021.
https://github.com/phpbb/phpbb/pull/6147

But they still are not working, in reality, even with 3.3.8

Add webp as an allowed image attachment extension

WEBP is often much smaller than jpg.

While you are at it, how about allowing AVIF as well? 💡💡

Edit: I see WEBP was apparently allowed as an attachment a year ago, but it does not work for me (using 3.3.7)

Re: Search Error

Found the cause. A user had posted this text:

Code: Select all

/[url=https:somesite.com]
and that broke the search (the escape character before the [url)

Search Error

When I do a search on user's posts, I get a bunch of errors. Try it yourself. Hit this link: https://www.[yourforum].com/search.php?author_id=10&sr=posts The page displays, but at the top there is this: [phpBB Debug] PHP Warning: in file [ROOT]/vendor/s9e/text-formatter/src/Utils.php on line 161...
