Re: I have locked myself out of phpBB!

I got the same error message when enabling secure cookies even though I do have an SSL cert for my domain. I was not able to solve it so I disabled secure cookies (cookies_secure field in phpbb_config) in the database.

Thanks.

Help with user notice or forum rules notice

I posted a user notice on my forum and I can't for the life of me figure out how I did it. I need to remove it. I don't see anything in the Admin section regarding this. I have searched all files and cannot find the text in the notice. I believe it's probably referred to as S_USER_NOTICE in the code...

Re: cannot edit post

I installed Measure #1: Links and I'm having this error no matter how many posts my account has. In fact, I'm the admin and I still cannot post links unless I remove the code. The threshold number doesn't seem to work.

Weird word censor issue

In an effort to stop all outbound links, I created an entry in the Word Censor page to change "www." and "http://" to "report-link." Then I created a recipe in my .htaccess file to route any links with "report-link" to an error page. It works! BUT... - If I look in my Word Censoring page in the admi...

Re: Spam posted with Admin account name

Thanks.

Unfortunately, it was already set that way. I'm stumped.

Re: Spam posted with Admin account name

How can I disable guest posting, but allow guests to view the forum. I can't seem to find that setting.

As far as I can tell all of my forums are set to Guests having read only access.

Thanks.

Spam posted with Admin account name

I have spam on my board that is posted with the admin account name. They have not compromised the account, but instead it was posted with the same name. On the message, the posting name is not a link, therefore I cannot administer the account. Does that make sense? How do I figure out what account w...

New posts held for moderation

Okay, I'm feeling dumb here but I just did a clean install of the latest version of phpbb3. All posts by registered members are being held for moderation and I can't find where to turn that off.

Thanks.

Re: Weird redirect problem

I'm really sorry for all the updates here but I think I got it. There was something wrong with my bots table. It probably occurred when I was on phpbb2 and was sharing a users table between 3 forums. When I moved to phpbb3 I decided to keep separate user tables. Even though I used the same table for...

Re: Weird redirect problem

Alright, I'm definitely on to something. I have no spiders and bots in the admin, yet they are all in the database in phpbb3_bots. I've checked /includes/constants.php and it points to the right table in the database, yet nothing shows up in the admin. I think I might have to do a fresh install.

Bots not visible on ACP

My bots are stored in phpbb_bots, but they don't show up in the admin under Spider/bots. That part of the admin is empty. I have confirmed that /includes/constants.php points to the appropriate table in the database but my bots still don't show up. Any idea why?

Re: Weird redirect problem

Okay, I copied the googlebot data from another forum and now it works. But I didn't enter any of the bots into the other install. They were entered automatically. I have them for Google, Yahoo, and about 50 other bots. Is there a setting somewhere that I'm missing?
