Determining thread starter

Is there any way to determine who started a thread and lock that thread to just the thread starter and a forum group (such as moderators)?

Re: Including PHP files

Thanks for the reply.

So just to calrify, I have uploaded my dir (with the files) to the template dir. To include a file in my dir I would do:

Code: Select all

<!-- INCLUDEPHP dir/file.php -->

Including PHP files

Hi,

I've written a small PHP script and saved it to a file with a .php extension. However when I try and do:

Code: Select all

<!-- INCLUDE file.php -->
In index_body.html I don't see it appearing.

Anyone able to tell me what it is I'm doing wrong please?

Populate phpBB3 from phpBB2 DB

Hey,

Is it possible for me to simply copy the user table from a phpBB2 DB and import it to a phpBB3 DB to populate the user table?

I've created a clean install of phpBB3 and just curious if I can or if the users will require to re-register.

Thanks.

Re: Maximising prosilver forum width

Or just change your screen resolution to 800 X 600. For some odd reason the style doesn't adjust to a users screen resolution like bb2 does. You won't see the huge border gap around your board instead you will have to scroll from one side to the other. Old people like me need the larger view. I thi...

Re: Unsure,

The copyright refers mainly to the workings of the actual forum itself. For example taking the PHP files that make up phpBB, renaming them and then "producing" the forum as your own.

Re: Unsure,

Generally any MODs & Themes available from phpbb.com are free and allowed to be used on your site. Most MOD & Theme authors do ask that somewhere on your site you show credit to them for the MOD or Theme you are using. The basic theme that comes with phpBB3 (prosilver) can be used & modified at your...

Re: editing index.php for PAGE integration

In which case you will need to skin your forum using the images currently used on your wordpress theme and add a link to your forum from the wordpress ACP. When I say skin what I am referring to is replacing the current images with the wordpress images. Take a look at: styles/theme/prosilver Within ...

Re: editing index.php for PAGE integration

That site is just using the same header for all pages.

Take a look at the overall_header.tpl file

styles/prosilver/theme/templates/overall_header.tpl

Re: Unsure,

phpBB is distributed under the General User Lisence agreement. What this means is you are free to use it and modify it as you wish (whilst still keeping the phpBB footer) as long as you are not directly profiting from it. Blatant copying of the source to reproduce the forum (even under a different s...

Re: Background colors in topics

The three .bg classes deal with the topic list colours. What I have suggested with changing the .bg1 & .bg2 background colours will work. Check that after uploading the new colour.css file you defiantly refreshed your style and check what the ACP says it is currently using by looking at the "Edit Th...
