No, unfortunately I did not, but thank you very much for doing it. I don't have the time to go over the entire akismet API and MOD so incorporating it with the MOD distribution is probably not likely to happen anytime soon. Well it was only a few lines changes to your mod, as there is an akismet ph...

For a future version I will make a spam words specific user management system that will make warnings/bans settable on a per user basis. Hi there, did you manage to take a look at the akismet mod? It really takes the work out of compiling bad words lists, but integrates very well with your mod beca...

Akismet support

Joe, Thanks for the great mod. I have been using it on one of my forums with success, however the banned words list is getting bigger and bigger and harder to manage. Have you heard of Akismet? ( www.Akismet.com ). It is a spam filtering service that was developed by the Wordpress guys but can be us...

Merging 2 phpbb installs

Hi, What would be the best way to merge 2 phpbb installs. I have a 2nd forum ( different server etc ) that I want to merge into the main one. Obviously there are some issues with duplicated post numbers etc. The only idea i had was to incriment the postid + 50,000, the userids +20,000 etc on the 2nd...

So I ask again, on what grounds do you have that we are hiding it? So its missing from one post. There's about 6 places as to where you can obtain this information, that announcment is very little in terms. That was just my personal feeling, I'm not accusing anyone of anything. For the record I kno...

And in the changelog there is mention of "Fixed not confirmed sql injection in username handling" which is the only security fix in the changelog. Please read te whole changelog: Changes: Changes since 2.0.10 - Fixed vulnerability in highlighting code (very high severity, please update your install...

I'll agree that the announcement should have made it clear - it does state that there is a serious exploit - " addresses a potentially serious exploit" - however I do feel that the fact that it is an exploit that allows remote code execution should maybe have been included in the 'Changes' section....

Now, it is true that the announcement didn't mention remote execution, I'll give you that one, but generally people will notice if their site has been defaced. Exactly and thats the problem. Many sites would have been hacked *without* being defaced. My site wasn't defaced but backdoored with 2 diff...

urldecode is fairly safe. The problem wasn't urldecode, but using the /e option with preg_replace. I'm a bit dissapointed in the reporting of this hole in PHPBB, as the 2.0.11 annoucement says *nothing* about a remote execution hole. This means web hosts and users might not do as much as neccessery...

Tip for 2.0.2 users wanting to upgrade to 2.0.6

In your phpbb_config table, find the row that has :
version .0.2
and change it to
version .0.3

Before running update_to_206.php. It seems that there is a bug in that script that means your tables are not updated unless you do this.

Hi there, Nice script, I have finally managed to import a mailing list archives ( mbox format ) into phpbb, with this script forming part of it. However, there are 2 logic errors with this script : ( found out with hours of reverse engineering - are there any docs on the sql schema? ) // update the ...
