Unfortunately it seems that your webserver is unable to convert that many posts because of the memory it requires. If your site running on a shared server you may ask your hoster to raise that limit temporarily, otherwise I'm afraid I have no solution for this problem... :( (at least, no solution th...

Re: gzip compression

The "gzip compression" option you're given in the Admin control panel only concerns output, so it will decrease your bandwith usage, not the size needed to host your forums. If you're concerned about the growing size of your database you can empty tables phpbb_search_wordlist and phpbb_search_wordma...

The line you deleted was the one for previews. If you want to alter the line above signatures within viewtopic, look in viewtopic.php at line 1128: $user_sig = '<br />_________________<br />' . str_replace("\n", "\n<br />\n", $user_sig); Note that this line has been moved out of the core code and wi...

why would you try to low the $max_execution_time? The error message means that the PHP script took too much time to complete and the server had to stop it "brutally". Lowering $max_execution_time will make the script stop by itself before the server does. The fully populated database of my XForum i...

What was exactly the error message you got? You may try to low[er] the $max_execution_time to 10-or-so, if it does not work your best bet is to relocate your board temporarily to another (faster) server to convert them then move it back to your "slow" server.

NOTE: I assume you have some knowledge in using phpMyAdmin since you've already done half of the debugging ;) If it's not the case, you should not do this by yourself. Here is something you can try: first, look at your users table, what's the user_id of Anonymous? if it's not "-1" (it may be "1"), u...

The first forum I can remember of was UBB 5.x (about 6 years ago IIRC) and it had (U?)BBCodes already.

We need the forum_id field for some operations, such as moving or deleting forums, pruning, recounting posts or resynchronising last post infos. If I remember correctly, all recent forums have a similar design for posts table.

The easiest way is to use phpMyAdmin and execute this request:

Code: Select all

UPDATE phpbb_users SET user_level = 1 WHERE username = 'M-Raptor'
...where M-Raptor is your username and phpbb_ your table prefix.

Re: SQL question

That'd be

Code: Select all

SELECT p.topic_id, <other fields...>
FROM phpbb_topics t, phpbb_posts p
WHERE t.topic_last_post_id = p.post_id
ORDER BY p.post_time DESC
LIMIT 20
but I'm not sure this topic belongs to Discussion...

Sorry but there's no new convertor planned for YaBB SE. If you got lots of <br /> instead of new line you may use phpMyAdmin to correct posts but this operation is at your own risks (ask someone who knows how to use phpMyAdmin if you don't). The query is UPDATE phpbb_posts_text SET post_text = REPLA...

Re: yabb se 1.4 ---> phpbb 2.0.2

i put the url that yabbse is in You must not put the url (like http://www.foo.com/forum/) but the relative path instead. As explained by nferreri, it should look like ../yabbse/ but if it still does not work please post the path and urls to both of your forums and we'll try to find what's the relat...
