Re: Testing upgrade and got this odd problem.

I found the problem. A non-existent (deleted) user record. There was a deleted user record still showing in the global_moderator group. Somehow the member was deleted, without their user_id being removed from the user_groups. Thus, it showed a non-existent user record as "guest" in the team listing ...

Re: Testing upgrade and got this odd problem.

Two different views of the mask for the anonymous account: User permissions view: anonymous-permission-mask.jpg Global permissions anonymous-permission-mask-global.jpg I hope these were the screen captures you were wanting. Thanks, Dennys Sorry, those captures were both from the 3.0.14 system, this ...

Re: Testing upgrade and got this odd problem.

OK, I have double checked the anonymous account & the guest group and found zero admin/mod permissions. Anonymous is only in the "guest" group and the only member of "guest". Anonymous is not in the "global mod" or "admin" group. Note, guest does not show in 3.0.14 listing of moderators. Any place I...

Testing upgrade and got this odd problem. (Solved)

I'm preparing to upgrade my 3.0.x site to 3.1.9 and have been testing the process on a local machine using XAMPP. So far, so good and I've learned a lot about what I need to do before doing the live site. However, in testing, I clicked the "Team" link and I noticed this in the list of moderators (im...

Re: Questions about re-creating a deleted user.

You should look at the poster_id record (that's the original user_id ) and create a new user, then change the new user_id to be the old poster_id . IF NOT EXISTS . Simply theoric tough, didn't tried before. Thanks for the reply. After a complete backup of the database and site, I changed the user_i...

Questions about re-creating a deleted user.

phpBB v3.0.14 Scenario: One of my forum members user record was deleted. All of their posts and messages are still in the database, but without an associated user_id record, they won't display. Question: Can I manually (SQL) recreate or change a new registration to the deleted user_id # to get them ...

Topic Subscription Question

What is the limit (or is there one) on how many topics a forum member can subscribe too?
(I've searched the forum, docs, etc. and without digging through the code I'm hoping someone knows already.)

Also, what would the ramifications be if a member had hundreds of topic subscriptions?

TIA,
Denys

Thanks

I added this code too and it works great. Thanks!

How difficult would it be to add a link to the "delete" account function in the email? Kind of the opposite of the activate.

John, last time I had something like that "just break", I found out it was my web host that changed how sendmail worked. Look at your host installation if nothing else changed in phpBB.

as far as I know, you can't use apostrophies in file names ( except maybe in windows servers) you also should not use spaces in file names. all of that only works on windows machines and most of the internet is still running on unix/linux servers. robert Not sure what host he is using (windows/unix...

Question about [url] BBcode in v2.017

I'm not sure if this was part of the fix, but since I've patched to 2.0.17 a posters URL links no longer work. He uses the single tick ' apostrophe in his directory names (several of them.) Example: [url=http://www.cleancomputes.com/Cub/Cub%20Owner's%20Manuals/index.html]Owner's Manual[/url] See act...
