Re: From Outlook to phpBB?

Dog Cow--I am glad to pique your interest. Now if I could find a solution! Thanks for your suggestions Robert. However, I do not just want the emails in a readable form. I want them in a searchable form for an offline search engine. There are definitely many threads, which would be nice to preserve,...

From Outlook to phpBB?

Hello All,

I am trying to find a solution for exporting 200,000 emails from a listserv to a database/forum/or other solution for easy search and storage outside Outlook. Many of the emails have attachments.

Is this possible with phpBB?

Thanks,

Re: [SUPPORT] UBB.classic 6.x Convertor [0.3.1]

Oy. This topic might be the most resurrected topic since "which came first: the chicken or the egg?" My conversion went well, except for the authors of the posts. All this data is dirty and unreliable. I exported the data as XML, cleaned it up in Excel, but now I cannot get the information back in t...

Re: Import XML files?

Brf: I agree wholeheartedly with you. I did my best to take care of the table synchronization, but it was certainly far from perfect. Do you know of any way to get the cleaned information back into their respective tables? I do not care for any passwords on this forum as it will be used as a static ...

Re: Import XML files?

Brf: I converted/upgraded the phpBB2 to phpBB3. That is all done. I figured out how to import the XML files: change them into CSV files and import. Unfortunately, I eliminated the admin and could not access the ACP. Anyway, I think this topic has concluded, unless someone else has any better ideas. ...

Re: Import XML files?

To convert from UBB Classic to phpBB2, I simply used one of the converters offered. I think the one I used was named, "conv_classic." I misspoke when I said I converted phpBB2 to phpBB3. What I meant to say is that I upgraded from phpBB2 to phpBB3, and I did so using the instructions provided on thi...

Re: Import XML files?

Well, I have tried exporting the applicable tables to a new XML file and then changing the new XML file data entries with the clean data and then re-importing the new XML file. I still receive the following error: "Input array is longer than the number of columns in this table." Anyone with any furt...

Import XML files?

Hello All, I have an XML file which i exported from phpBB3's MySQL database which lists the forums, posts and users. I needed to clean up a lot of the entries from converting an old classic UBB forum to phpBB2 and then to phpBB3. Now I want to import back into the appropriate MySQL tables the clean ...

Re: How to eliminate login?

Please re-read my initial post: I converted the UBB to phpBB2 and then upgraded to phpBB3.

Because the forum is now using phpBB3 (as indicated in my initial post), I am asking for assistance in the phpBB 3.0 support forum.

Thanks,

How to eliminate login?

I realize that one of the main points with a forum is to have sign-up and log-in procedures. However, in my case, I have converted an old UBB 6.0.5 to phpBB2 to phpBB3, and the contents of the old UBB forum are no longer available online and the host of said UBB forum chose to not import the old UBB...

Thank you. It worked. I went through most of the thread and found other useful information.

Again, thanks,

Re: [SUPPORT] UBB.classic 6.x Convertor [0.3.1]

Hello All, Can you believe this topic is being resurrected again? I have been tasked by a large association of attorneys to convert their old UBB 6.0.5 board to something new. Hence, I have chosen phpBB. I have been attempting to use the 0.3.1 Converter, but I keep getting errors. This is what I hav...
