I have a gray theme as well, and I fixed the color issue by copying the images into Photoshop and making them grayscale. Worked perfectly.

Is it possible to get a Photoshop source for this, so as to apply it to other color schemes? :?:

As best that I can reason it out, a private topics hack would work something like this (I've tried to make something coherent out of my pseudocode gibberish): A new database table would be created (phpbb_private_topics or somesuch). This table would have two columns, topic_id and user_id, which woul...

I attempted to do something with the php code half of my fifty-fifty mix of pseudocode and probably error-ridden php code, and it turned out to be a disaster. :(

It didn't work at all, so now I have basically nothing but psuedocode. I'll post it here. Maybe someone can do something with it.

Theoretical Question

I am interested in archiving part of my board by storing several of its forums offline. Theoretically, I think that I can do this, but I am wondering if I could be wrong (I don't want to do it unless it will work). I am considering copying the database tables for my board, effectively creating two p...

Well, the problem with that is that it would involve creating far too many private forums to be practical, and many of the discussions involved would be so small as to not merit their own forums while simultaneously having more than two participants - thus ruling out private messages. The admin work...

[request] Private Topics

I am wondering if it would be possible to establish a means of restricting who can view a thread, limiting it to a certain user, or users, or a specific group. For example, I could start a thread and (similar to choosing poll options perhaps) choose users X, Y, and Z to be able to view the private t...

I am not certain whether it would have worked. After completing the backup, I never got around to deleting the tables, as I tried another solution to the autologin problem and that managed to fix it. When phpBB was first installed, it was done along with converting a forum over from UBB. In the proc...

Assuming I use the export function to take it out, what function do I use to put it back?

EDIT: Nevermind, I think that I figured it out.

I've tested copying the database tables over to have a phpbb_ prefix and that doesn't work either (from the existing or new sets of files), so that precludes the prefix glitch theory. Now if I understand Daedalus3's theory, I should use the admin database backup feature, then delete the existing tab...

Well, changing the script path does not fix the problem. I'm switching it back, and am about to test Daedalus3's theory.

I'll try the copy the database thing to see if it works. But here's an inane question. Does the database prefix name have to be phpbb_ for the cookies to work? The existing database had a prefix of phpbb2_, while the test one had a prefix of phpbb_. That might have some impact on it. I am going to t...
